Don't know. Wasn't really a fan of the original. Anyhow, this remake/reboot/reimaging hasn't aired yet.

The ad says that it's supposed to be airing on the SyFy (SciFi?) channel in September, so I'm sure it will be quality.

Yeah. The Sci Fi channel renamed itself to SyFy. Why? I'm gonna guess booze, drugs and wannabe hip marketers are to blame.

Hmmm.... A Scifi channel original. I'm sure it will be just as good as House of the Dead 2 and Return of the Living Dead 4 and 5.

You know, a remake of the Children of the Corn could have actually been pretty wicked. The short story was creepy and atmospheric, and had a lot of things that imho the film lacked, but seeing as this is SyFy (or SciFi as the fans prefer, or SF as I prefer.) this is already not worth watching.

Oh wow, good thing they're remaking/rebooting or whatever THIS movie!

I thought after the fourth (or was it fifth?) installment that they were starting to stray from the source material too much, and it was getting pretty corny. It's good to know that they're heading back to their roots. I always hoped for a new installment; kept an ear out to make sure I'd know ASAP.

I found the answer. Not the release. The name change. A fellow with the monicker JettL93...

"Sy-Fy" is brandable "Sci-Fi" is not. Thats the basic reason for the name change, you can't brand or copyright the word "Sci fi", but "Sy-Fy" is now a tradmarked word and if it gets put on merchandise the newtwork has to be paid, it's a business decision...
