I was at Best Buy today to buy a blu movie. No preconceived ideas on what to buy, but just to browse. Now anyone who is familiar with Best Buy, knows that on the movie racks, there are the sale prices in big yellow tags on the bottom price bars. And for some time, Best Buy has been having some really great deals. I ended up buying Payback for 12.99$ on blu. That's a great deal.
But I noticed that when I was browsing, I wasn't even looking at the movies themselves, I was only looking at the movies that were on sale on the price tag bar. Now I am in no way cheap, especially when it comes to movies. (I just bought the Watchmen Amazon blu edition for like 80$).
But I was wondering if anyone else has been shopping like this at Best Buy, or anywhere else for that matter. I just have a small developing theory that it is starting to take a lot more in a movie for people to spend 20+$, unless it's really really worth it, let it be for extras, packaging, quality, or whatever floats your boat. I think people are starting to spend their money more wisely, and lets face it, you don't NEED to buy a movie, it's something you WANT to buy. But for a movie person like me, that line is wavy, lol!
Anybody else been shopping like that?
