So this story pretty much sucks. I'm from a small suburban neighborhood in Massachusetts called Lexington. Its one of those little towns where nothing really ever happens there. I'm currently going to school all the way on the west coast in SLC Utah. I also stayed here over the summer so I could claim residency and get cheaper tuition.

Of course, while I'm gone I get an e-mail from my friend yesterday that the David O. Russell movie The Fighter starring Marky Mark and Christian Bale was filming a scene in my hometown of Lexington. I knew they were filming in Massachusetts but the chances of them shooting in my town was a chance from one to a million. That kind of shit only happens once in a blue moon, and of course that blue moon had to come along while I was in another state.

Here is the article:

Lexington - Hollywood is coming to Lexington next week, as some filming for “The Fighter” will take place at the Lexington Flick.

The movie, starring Mark Wahlberg, Amy Adams and Christian Bale, takes place in Lowell and is about former junior welter weight boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward.

The movie includes a scene in which Adams’ and Wahlberg’s characters go on a date to the movies, and Flick owner Peter Siy has been able to bring that filming to Lexington.

In addition, Sweet Beads’ storefront will be turned into a vintage clothing store, said owner Jenifer Apazidis.

According to Town Manager Carl Valente, the filming, which will occur on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m., should not affect residents much. Anything filmed outside the theater will likely be after most people are in bed.

“They’ll have to close Mass. Ave. for a couple of minutes at a time, but that’s likely to be in the middle of the night,” said Valente.

Police officers will stop traffic for a few minutes at a time as filming occurs, said Valente, but the street itself will not be shut down.
