It should be better than the shit sequels 4 - 6 (Didn't see 3, loved H20). The premise is interesting enough, and the trailer looked like pure fun, (The scene when Laurie Strode comes back looks great) and just what I'm looking for this summer.

I just wish Jason would kill Michael and then Freddie would kill Jason, so that would leave us with only one crappy series instead of three.
End it already.

When is this franchise gonna be over? 2045? Kil Michael Myers for good already and get it over with! Its getting annoying and is overstaying its welcome since, when, 1978!!!!!!

The most anticipated film this summer for myself....i cant wait for this one to come out, look forward to seeing it numerous times,so hopefully it doenst let me down...SteveSzyk,if your a halloween/horror fan, what didnt you like about 4...i know not many like 5 i dont either,or 6 either, but i happen to think 6 is one of the best. The thing i think they should regret and that i miss out on,is unlike jason x,they dont atleast try and attempt to break out some new faces besides 2 or 3 people....

I predict that in Halloween: Ressurection... Mike Myers will be chopped into tiny pieces, and everybody will think he is dead. But then, in Halloween: This Series Just Can't Die, whoever will be writing the script will come up with an idea to bring back Mike Myers back for the millionth time.
And in case anybody's wondering, I will not be seeing this movie. Hell, I didn't even care much for the first Halloween.

I will probably see this movie, but i will probably hate it, why because i didnt enjoy 1,2,4,5,6 or h20. i think this series of movies are overratted and lame. just my two cents, and i always have to finish a series, its just a thing i do.
I'm with XCoRyX on this one...
I can't wait to see it, I think it will kick ass and be a lot of fun. I'd have to say it's one of my most anticipated movies of the summer. I love horror movies and I honestly don't care if they ever end the series, I'd still see them. I'd actually be sad to see the series end.
I plan on being there opening weekend and I hope it performs well at the Box Office like Halloween H20 did. I think it should do good but don't think it will come near H20's Box Office. I'll say a 12 Million opening and a 30 Million finish. Yet who knows, it could be a little more. Since fans of Busta Ryhmes will see it---even if they aren't fans of the series---so that will bring in more people. And lets face it, quite a few movies with rappers do well. Just look at that flick Exit Wounds---it had DMX and he's a big reason it had a good opening. So I guess we'll have to wait and see but Halloween: Resurrection should do decent at the B.O., I know it will do better than JASON X did, I'm 110% sure of that.

This movie looks like pure garbage. I'm a HUGE Halloween fan but I don't even know if I'll be seeing this in the theatre. It just pisses me off how the producers are trying to turn this once scary, gory series into mindless crap for teeny boppers. Busta Rhymes and Tyra Banks have no place at all in a Halloween movie and the producers are turning this series into a joke. It should have been Michael Myers hunting down his nephew not about hunting a bunch of idiot teens in his house.

Mike, what the hell do you mean gory? Considering that you consider yourself a "huge" fan of the series, you have seen Halloween I, correct?
As for updating Halloween for the Scream crowd - it's been done before. Halloweens 2 - 6 were updated to match the times. To compete with Friday the 13th. Halloweens H20 and Resurrection simply updated to Scream standards.

I'm going to visit some relatives this weekend but I'm going to see if anyone wants to see Halloween: Resurrection with me because I'd like to go this weekend. I know my cousin liked H20 so maybe she'll go with me.

Yeah sorry should have actually stated that better. Halloween 1 and H20 had basically no at all(H20 a little bit more than part 1 did but without the scares) but 2,4,and 6 had their fair share of it and Myers was more vicious than ever.

and it didnt...forget my handle...i figured this would be trash...but damn...this movie kicked my ass..
im going out on a limb here but i will admit, for some strange reason, this is the best since part 1...Rick did a better job than part 2...i dont know why im saying that but i just feel it...this was a good movie in my eyes. im no "fanboy" but i do like the series...and in all honesty, i was shocked to see such a good horroh movie.

Wow. I expected this to blow major league ass. It didn't! I liked this way too much than I should've. All the reviewers complain about paper thin characters, BUT WHO THE HELL CARES? Are you expecting a new A Beautiful Mind? IT'S HALLOWEEN! I never really jumped much, but it was creepy at times... Michael was cool as hell. I really thought Busta would get on my nerves but he didn't...(I actually laughed at him...) All the deaths kicked major ass and made me cringe, I LOVE THAT! All in all, I'd say this is a great sequel...

Oh god, did this movie suck. How can one film be so unthought out and poorly performed. There were many loose plot lines left flying that could have easily been tied in.
*SPOILERS!*
Great way to recycle crap though... with the whole 'Laurie killed the wrong man and the guilt has locked her up' routine. HOW COULD THEY KILL OFF JAMIE LEE CURTIS! For gods sake, after eight episodes, one weak murder has ended the only strong, dynamic character in the series, not to mention Micheal Myer's life goal.
What about the clown man in the hospital. Did Micheal 'pass the baton' so to speak when he handed the man the knife? We saw Micheal walk into the distance, walk down the "tunnel." Was the clown man the murderer? It could happen, I have read plot lines of the film prior its opening that detailed the Micheal was not infact the killer, the clown patient was hospitalized for thirty two murders, but was he the killer? Inivincible like Micheal? Also, not the same body type as Micheal.
So whats the deal?

I was so excited to hear that the Halloween series was going to be continuous once more and off course had to see it the first night it was shown. I have always been a fan of what I felt was the number one horror series aired compared to the rest. I would have to say I was a little disappointed after seeing the film. After Jamie Lee Curtis was killed it ruined it for me. Her role always made the series a hit. I actually went to see the show because of her and what she would come up with to kill her brother after previous failed attempts. The end was surprising because I felt the title meant this was the final episode of the series, but when Micheal opens his eyes in the morgue I said to myself....there will be another movie, there's no way a horror series as popular as this can come to an end like that. It was thought that H20 was the last, but predicted wrong. It was okay, but not near my favorite from the series. It really spoiled and ruined after Jamie Lee Curtis died. It wasn't the same as the rest with her overwhelming character role. Another addition to this series would suck because she wouldn't be a part of it. The plot was not that interesting to me as in the past. I was in suspense, but not the whole time. I could predict a lot of the movie. I will rent it when it comes on video, but overall it could have been better and was not as I expected. My excitement was gone within the first 10 minutes after Jamie's death....they could have prolonged it longer instead of it happening at the very beginning.

yeah, thats what i was thinking,i knew they wouldnt scope down THAT low and try and make the fat guy the killer. And another thing,i definetly would have killed off busta rhymes unless they recasted his role to a better actor, and maybe have laurie strode just have flashbacks and stuff in the beginning without the attack from michael, and then maybe have her show up at the myers house, then have myers finally kill her if that, atleast in the old home.and the thing thats pissing me off with the survivors,is that they cant/shouldnt do anything with them,so why bring them in and keep em alive huh?i mean sara was an ok character, but i mean i just cant picture her being the new laurie strode....for halloween 9,which their hopefully better be in order to save the series,i would try and get the character or kara strode and jamie lloyds baby involved.

I CARE ABOUT characters and since when did Halloween become a series known for under developped characters? Laurie Strode was developped in Part 1- 2 and H20. Jamie Lloyd was developped in Part 4-5 and even 6. And so was Loomis through all of it. Shit even the players in H20 were more fleshed out than the poor excuses for characters in H8. Why aim so low? Why not have a slasher flick with well written characters? Is that so fucking hard to do. That whole "who cares about characters, its a slasher flick" jive dont go down well with me. The nature of a film does not excuse LOUSY and OBVIOUS screenwriting. I guess Studios are getting lazy cause their audience are getting lazy, they'll swallow anything! I feel better...needed to vent.

I never saw Halloween 4-5-6... http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif I guess I didn't care that they were under developped cause I HATED THEM ALL. I didn't want to know anything about them, they were either really annoying, really slutty, only there for sex, or obsessed with food http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif.... They all got on my nerves! I was rooting for Michael to kill them all, even the main girl, Sara.

Remember this is my opinion.
Halloween- Great Film
Halloween 2-Pretty Good
Halloween 3-Even the writer Nigel Kneale disowned it
Halloween 4-Excellent sequel
Halloween 5-Very good
Halloween 6(theatre version-crap
Halloween 6(Producer's cut)-Pretty Cool
H2O- Didn't like it much, but it seemed okay for the younger set
Halloween resurection-Seen it and we are back on track
If you don't like slasher fare...why would you go see it or complain about it, it's not for you, it's for fans of this type of horror.
The way hammer has certain fans or giallo. They are meant for there fanbase and this one delivers on that.

This is the best sequel in the series since HalloweenIII and IV. It lives up to the HalloweeN feel and brings back the goodness that is Haddonfeild.
I have never seen the Myers house so well done since the original!
The score - excellent
The acting - very good except for a few lines here and there( I thought Busta did a great job too, I wasn't looking forward to his performance)
The intro graphics and stuff were also good, alot better than H20/Curse/Revenge
I can't wait to see it again on tuesday!

i just want to know something,i thought in halloween:the curse of michael myers The Strode family were in the myers house. Now if i am right, then how did the house look so scruddy and why didnt they mention it or even be less surprised.Oh,and the intro definetly wasnt better then the revenge or curse,i didnt like revenge too much, but i admit that was the best intro. And how is this putting halloween back on the track?i think its doing anything but that, its going on the one way ticket to slasher teeny bopper.Maybe you just cant make an original sequel anymore in this time.Oh,and since argentofan did that little sum of his thought on the series,i think i will too if i can without taking his ideas http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif -
Halloween- One of the best horror movies ever.
Halloween 2- Great sequel.
Halloween 3- If it wasnt involved with the name of halloween,it might have been better through my eyes and gotten respect, but they just tried putting an end to the icon.
Halloween 4- Superb sequel, right up there with part 2 as far as great sequels go,maybe it is liked so much since its the return of myers indeed.
Halloween 5- Disappointing to say the least, cant say i was entertained throughout the whole movie, and the mask was horrible.
Halloween 6- My favorite sequel to the series, even with the theater version,it was the first horror i watched in a long time at that time, and it helped me return to my love for horror when i was about 10,and i loved it....i disagree with all bashers, and think this was definetly the best sequel to the series along with part 4.
H20- Disappointing like part 5.it seems that they make a good sequel, then drop down and do it again.Part 2 was great, then came 3 and that was horrible, then 4 which was great, then 5 which was disappointing, then 6 which was awesome and this which was disappointing...and thats the least to say, started the teeny bopper of the franchise which isnt the best idea.
Resurrection- VERY disappointing, even more disappointing then part 5 and H20....i would have to say this is the 2nd worst in the series.

I think that Halloween 8 started off great with Jamie Lee Curtis, but unfortunately that seemed to be the best scene in the whole movie. After she was killed off (bad move) the rest of the movie seemed like just another stupid teen movie. What happened to her son from H20? They could have done so much with that, and yet they failed. I think it was very disappointing!

I have been reading some of the posting about Halloween...and I read that some think that Mikey gave the knife to the mental patient guy so he could frame him...I don't see how that would make the most sense. I believed it was a gesture that Mike's mission was actually over and he was going home for good. That would make more sense considering nothing was ever said about Laurie's death or the possiblilty of a frameup. I thought it was a symbolic way of saying his killing spree was over...untill he found those damn kids in his house. What do you guys think?

You didnt miss too much...i mean sure its a must see if your a fan of horror or halloween in general...but it was definetly a letdown in my book.most of the deaths were pretty good however i will say,but another letdown is that they dont show too much of the killings, they just basically let you know what happens to them.

yeah,i didnt say they didnt,i said they didnt show too much, which can be partly excused for MPAA type ratings, but sure...they showed and let you know how the people died, but it just wasnt too graphic for me...

ok, i am a big slasher fan and usually eat everything they put in the theaters up, (ex: i love valentine, jason x) but let's face it, this was NOT a good movie. i could not stop laughing, which is a bad thing, due to the fact that this really wasn't supposed to be funny. but what can i say, busta rhymes was the male lead.
just whenever he came on, he's like "yo muther fucker" and then left. he should not ever try acting again. im not so sure that he is a bad actor, but c'mon, he's busta rhymes! so throughout the movie i saw busta rhymes bein chased by the shape, and that's not scary at all. also, tyra banks is a fuckin dumbass.
but i wont leave bianca kajlich or whatever her last name is unmentioned, for her likability and believability ALMOST was enough to save this flick, but sadly, i said almost.
other things i liked:
the beginning sequence, brittany murph- oops i mean the best friend (u could not be more right arrow) and the chef guy, (sean patrick thomas) and the chase scenes with BK were done very well.
overall, with different casting decisions, this might've been scary, but shoulda coulda woulda; BK gives a strong performance but is couldn't save this laughable sequel - 5.5/10

So you didn't laugh during Jason X? That was all comedy no horror, I think Halloween 8 has the perfect blend of horror and comedy..

well,i can say i had more fun watching jason x then halloween:resurrection, for one the comedy was meant to be in there for the most part...and it didnt turn into a modern day teeny bopper movie...halloween had funny moments put in it but they didnt hit me or most of my audience well, the only thing laughable was busta rhymes and the meaning to be suspenseful and scary moments...i agree with the person who said bianca kajlich put on a nice performance...i also enjoyed daisy mccrackins performance...but those are basically the 2 things only likeable.

Worst death is probably when Rudy Grimes (Sean Patrick Thomas) gets stabbed lifted up then Mikey gets another knife and sticks it threw Rudy and a door. He just sticks there the rest of the movie.

Again this was another movie I had no intention of seeing but my wife wanted to see it, and you know how that goes. Luckily we had movie bucks that we got for free so it didn't cost us anything.
I am not a follower of the series and have maybe seen three of the othere flicks including the original and H20.
I often complain about idiots in the theater making noises or talking. well no problem with this flick. It was me and the wife and only 4 other people in the entire theater.
I should have took that as a hint.
And about 1/4 of the way into the movie two of the people walked out! So that left only my wife and I and two intrepid teen girls, no way they where 18 but that is beside the point.
I had no expectations for this flick and I think that actually helped it, but it was still simply a retread of every other weak horror movie I have ever seen wrapped up into one package.
And I think at least in my theater that the plan was to blast the volume twice as loud as normal to maybe distract you from the film. It was almost too loud and I usually love the volume up, but this was turned up to 11, if you know what I mean.
I couldn't help but notice the similarities to T2 (the sanitarium scenes) and of course Blair Witch, with all the gittering hand held camera work.
But I must say that after hearing about how much it had been delayed and the number of directors and reshoots and redits it had gone thru it was not that bad, at least to look at, the plot was another story.
I know this is a horror movie based on a old horror movie but why use so many damn horror cliches, you could call every shot in this movie 5 minutes before it happend.
And Jamie deserved to die! I mean he wasn't even dead simply hanging upside down, but no I will walk up to him and he will not grab me, stupid bitch, die, die I say for her lack of mental capacity.
If she was worried about his identity simply call the police and let him hang there.
And who thought it was stupid that Michael can do one handed pull ups but he cannot bend at the waist while hanging upside down to cut the rope, duh! I guess he needs to work on his abs a bit.
And what was up with the batman eyeshadow. I know it was so you wouldn't be able to tell which one was Michael and which one was Busta but come on, did Mike just decide to go femme that day and wear heavy eyeliner!
And I loved Mikes camera scrambling electro magnetic field. When ever he appeared the cameras started to go on the fritz, just long enough to hide him. And why didn't the people on the internet see him? I know they did the cliched bit about Tyra looking away from the monitors whenever he was walking by but the internet people where watching, but no one sees him until the killing starts.
Oh and just a word to the hopeless losers who where chosen to be in the house.
LEAVE!!!!!!!!
Simply go out a window you idiots. I know initially when Mike suprised them it would have been kind of hard but after that I would have been out a window.
And when the chick is finally on the roof what does she do, she goes back in!
Oh and who else thought she was Sydney from Scream? It was the same character.
And for a rated R horror movie there was no pay off, no real blood, no real killing, it was all rehashed crap from every other movie, how many times have we seen the guy stuck to the door with knives, about 1000.
I think the only reason this was even rated R was for the brief titty flash we get to see and maybe the language, certainly not the gore, there was none.
And did you notice that about half way thru the flick they suddenly have audio in the house, but they never once put up microphones in the house or on the people.
I think that was simply a mid stream plot hole they tried to plug when they realized it would be too slow for the chick to type into her PDA so they invented the mystery microphones so she could plead to her beloved on-line pal.
Beyond the internet chat sub plot there was basically nothing original at all in this flick.
And Busta, my brotha what where you thinking. I have liked him in everything he has been in so far but this was a bit too much. He would bust out into his speeches and it just did not fit.
And what about the totally overused ending when he punches the camera, been there done that!
And my wife actually jumped at the end when Mike opens his eyes in the morgue, if you could not see that one coming you ARE dead, boring!
This movie would be what I would imagine a freshman film student whipping out for his first short for a class on horror flicks.
Well if you haven't picked it up by now I thought this movie blew.
I give it a big 4/10 and that is simply because it didn't look like it had been redited to an inch of it's life.

Boy, now I'm definitely glad I saw Eight Legged Freaks. I'm still pissed that they killed off Laurie. Fucking, fucking stupid...
Sue me, but i liked Halloween H20. It's the best sequel by far even though it brings a bunch of teens into it, which wouldn't have happened if Scream wasn't born. It doesn't compare to the original at all, but it stands above the rest. I liked the direction from Steve Miner, the beginning and the last 20 minutes of the film was the best. That's when the suspense is let out.

I agree with you. I really liked this one. It was scarier than Scream, but Scream wasn't really a serious horror movie, more of a parody.

I would like to chime in and say "Halloween: Resurrection" sucks, in addition to being completely unnecessary. Why couldn't they just leave it be...
"Eight Legged Freaks", while not great, is a lot more fun for a spooky-funny time.

Busta took a shit over every scene he was in.
Whenever he had a speech he just kept on rambling. I understand that he is a fan of spontaneity but this was really disjointed.
The scene where he's talking about being rich with Tyra...what the fuck? Did nobody have any common sense and edit this moron? All Tyra can do is pretend to pay attention and nod, "Yeah baby... I know."
You know a movie is bad when Busta lets out a kung-fu yowl and its taken seriously. Jesus, I wanted to find a corner and weep. Mike deserves a better opponent than this bozo.
