The talent is there, but I don't see this one pulling a Forgetting Sarah Marshall where it takes a really basic, overdone plot and turns it into something great.

What the hell? I thought this was going to be rated R. There goes most of my excitement.

Ralphie from a Christmas Story is directing, so it's got that going for its self.

Rating aside, I love the cast. The men are awesome and the women are hot. And it looks very funny. So I'll definitely be watching.

Same. I was really only interested when I thought it was gonna be R. The premise isn't my cup of tea, but the great cast is undeniable...

The only person that's funny now in that movie is Jason Bateman. Everybody else has worn out their welcome. Jon Favreau should stick to directing.

The preview makes me want to gag.

I guess I should have used the rolly eyes to note the sarcasm in that post.

Well, he also produced "Ironman"! Him and Favreau have been friends for a long time along with Vaughn.

Yes, an "R" would have been more appropriate as it's geared towards adults and not kids. The preview doesn't even have a kids-appeal moment.

Faizon Love is the best black actor of all time. :P

Couples Retreat - 5/10

Wasn't quite as bad as I was expecting based on the quantity of bad reviews it has received, but still not very good. It's actually more of a dramedy at the end of the day, which is I think what caught a lot of people off guard, kind of like The Break-Up. The film does drag in spots (the Guitar Hero sequence) and some jokes fall flat, but there were a few funny in spots and the dramatic elements worked occasionally. The cast is absolutely fantastic and they play off of each other pretty well, but they are all capable of much better things. The film also looks stunning, largely due to the breathtaking filming locations. An OK way to kill a couple of hours, but not something I'd recommend.

I went to see this with my girlfriend because she really wanted to see it and I have to admit I enjoyed it. Of course with a talented cast there's bound to be some funny moments, which there was, as well as some surprisingly touching drama. I've always been a Bateman/Vaughn fan and liked their characters as well as their smokin' wives (Bell and Akerman). A decent comedy with some fun moments and nowhere near as bad as the critics are saying.

7/10

I was also coerced into seeing this by my better half, but it really didn't take much. The cast was enough to interest me even slightly, and I wasn't disappointed. I was actually suprised how much I liked Vaughn in this, as I typically can't stand him. I haven't liked him in anything really since Old School, and even then I think it was partly due to his interaction with his co-stars. This was another example of that. Had the likes of Bateman and especially Favreau not been in this, Vaughn wouldn't have done much for me. So guys, if you're looking for a decent date movie, this one is suggested. Also, Kristen bell in a bikini doesn't hurt much...
