Damn! That's one hefty Monday gross! AP3 should hit $100 million sometime Wednesday!
Stuart Little 2 also had a healthy Monday gross, and My Big Fat Wedding continues to surprise.

I'm happy for MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING. It's already done well for itself and it doesn't show signs of slowing down anytime soon. I think when it's all said and done it will be one of the years biggest sleeper hits.

It was very obvious that AP3 would have a hefty decline this weekend. It looks to finish with about $30 million for the weekend.
Holy Shit! Master Of Disguise had a very healthy Friday gross. It looks to gross some $13 million for the weekend. Shock the shit out of me!

Here are my Lee's Movie Info predictions for SIGNS:
FRIDAY: 15.11 Million (Could be 16.11, I can't read my writing)
SATURDAY: 18.39 Million
SUNDAY: 16.92
TOTAL: 50.42 Million
(I suck!)
$20 million for SIGNS!!!!!
I predicted a $62.0 million opening! I'm getting better at it. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif
There's a few suprises in Friday's numbers. For one, SIGNS did GREAT, I predicted a 51.5 Million opening weekend but I didn't think it would do this great.
AUSTIN POWERS 3 had a huge drop, I thought it would drop 50% and gross around 37 Million but it looks to make just 30 Million for the weekend.
And HOLY SHIT, I didn't think THE MASTER OF DISGUISE would make half as much as it's going to. It looks so HORRIBLE, I can't believe that many people went to see it.
RUNTELDAT did very well, just like THE ORIGINAL KINGS OF COMEDY did. I didn't think it would make as much as it did but it looks to do great for the weekend.
And just as I thought MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING is continuing to do well and will be at about 40 Million after the weekend.

Don't forget though that Master of Disguise is a PG rated family friendly movie so that is probably why it did well.

Signs made 20 million yesterday, I predict 30 today (word of mouth and repeat viewings) and 25 tommorow. Weekend total: $75 million.

Anybody know Saturdays numbers?
Horror whore
08-04-2002, 12:35 PM
I don't have Saturday's Numbers, but I do have the weekend estimates:
1 SIGNS: 60.30, 60.3
2 AUSTIN POWERS IN GOLDMEMBER: 32.40, 143.0
3 THE MASTER OF DISGUISE: 13.00, 13.0
4 RUNTELDAT: 7.50, 7.5
5 ROAD TO PERDITION: 6.63, 77.2
6 STUART LITTLE 2: 6.00, 46.8
7 MEN IN BLACK 2: 4.70, 182.0
8 MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING: 3.00, 40.2
8 K-19: THE WIDOWMAKER: 3.00, 30.9
8 THE COUNTRY BEARS: 3.00, 11.7
I'm glad MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING is doing so well, I love seing little movies succeed. It made pretty much the same it made last weekend and has now crossed the 40 Million mark. With all of the other movies having big drops you can be sure MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING will move up a couple of notches again next weekend.

So thats 42 million in 2 days for Signs now. Im seeing it again tonight (3rd time) and I expect it to make another 20 today. Scratch my 75 million total, sadly it wont make that. I predict a 63 million opening now. Also, I bet it will cross 100 million next weekend, XXX might give it some stiff competition, but I expect Signs to stay in the top 3 for a couple weeks.

I can't believe Master of Disguise made as much as it did. That means we might have to put up with such films more often than we already do because the film is going to make its budget of 16 million back during the week.

What's even worse is I have a feeling we'll be seeing a MASTER OF DISGUISE 2...

It only cost 16 million to make Master of Discuise? Great! Just what we need another Turle Turle movie.

The film cost so little because it has no big star or stars to pay, and comedies generally cost little unless they are effects heavy like Little Nicky which cost 80 million to produce.
