As everyone knows, fans HATE when fights break out in games.

HA! What bullshit. Fights are great no matter what the sport. What are some of your favorite fights that have broken out in "friendly competition".

Here is mine

"The Malice at the Palace"

This fight was epic. Fans, coaches, and players were involved. Ron Artest is one of my favorite players in the NBA, and having seen him from about 3 feet away. I have no idea how anyone could think it was a good idea to throw beer at him. He is pure muscle. He could snap you in two. Other highlights were Stephen Jackson punching every person who he saw, and Jermaine O'Neal laying that fat dude the fuck out.

What are some others?

I was working at the Palace that night. It was fucking chaos. The most surreal moment I'll probably ever have at a job in my life.

I was at this game. One of the top 5, most entertaining sporting events of my entire life. What a great rivalry during those years.

As rediculous as that fight was, I think my favorite still may be in the 2003 ALCS when Don Zimmer charged Pedro Martinez. But it may just be that I'm a huge Red Sox fan and have needed to watch this repeatedly as of late to ignore the fact that the evil empire may be on its way to another title...

Martinez is taking the mound again tomorrow night. Maybe he still has some magic left in him. His last two starts were quality but he had to take the tough luck losses. Perhaps tonight he is finally due for the win. It would be a hell of a way for him to end his career if Philadelphia does manage to win it all. Wishful thinking.

I haven't seen a whole lot of sports fights but, damn... the fight at the Palace must own everything. Chaos like that is just inconceivable. I remember hearing talk about that when it first happened but that's the first time I've ever actually seen it. KUDOS TO YOU JOHN RAMBO!

Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

One of my favorites is from Euro Soccer involving Inter Milan (Blue and Black) and Valencia (White and black). Fighting occurs between the field players and bench players between both sides after the final whistle. My favorite moment is at 1:20 when to the far right, you see a guy in all black who as it turns out, was a Valencia player running into the Inter Milan Locker room. I saw this on live tv when it happened and kind of stunned when it happened. Also, at 0:21, the Inter players ran after the dude in Grey because he cold clocks am Inter player then runs off like a wimp after the cheap shot.

Here's one from the 1987 World Junior Hockey Championship it resulted in both countries getting DQed and screwing us out of the gold medal

You don't see bench clearing brawls like this anymore

Can't find footage anymore but the Detroit Tigers VS Minnesota Twins Brawl from 1982 was the best I ever saw. Dave Rozema "karate" kick that blew out his knee, Kirk Gibson racing from the dugout and just crushing the Twins catcher, solo fights in center field... good stuff!

Hockey from the 70's and 80's featuring some great blench clearing brawls. The Flyers of the 70's were champions but they were absolutely crazy.

I miss Bob Probert in the NHL. That guy could put on a show and was THE heavyweight champion of the 1980's.

Any Flyers hockey fight that Ron Hextall was a part of.

Still my favorite athlete of all time.
