After coming back from a showing of A Serious Man, I think I'm cursed when it comes to having a competent movie experience when seeing a Coens brothers flick in theaters. The first one I ever seen was NO Country For Old Men, to which I had to deal with a couple yapping in front of me, then getting up halfway through the movie, blocking my view.
Then, we have the comedy Burn After Reading, a movie experience that I have ranted about a year ago. It involved chuckling during certain scenes, which resulted to getting yelled at by the lady in front of me, telling me "You do realize there are other people in this theater? Knock it off!", despite the fact that there was some dude in front laughing even louder than I was.
So, we now have A serious Man, in which I had to deal with a bunch of senior citizens thinking they had the right to provide commentary throughout the movie. In almost every scene, I had to hear some old lady say "Yeah, he/she better do that", or "I bet she wants to do that!" Along with that, they all were talking to each other, wonder who said what, or what did the scene even mean. I mean, fuck, do these ladies realize they are in a theater with other people? Either way, I'm glad I wasn't the only one bothered as a guy in the wheelchair behind me just screams out "Jeez, would you just shut the hell up?", to which it gathered no response. So, I's assume that hearing was the main benefactor for their constant blabbering because they still continued their loud commentary.
So, I have come to a conclusion that when it comes to enjoying a Coens brothers flick, the elderly or some obnoxious couple are possibly going to be there, getting on my nerves.:p
