Plot:
Every seven years in an unsuspecting town, The Tournament takes place. A battle royale among 30 of the world’s deadliest assassins. The last man standing receives the $10,000,000 cash prize and the title of World's No 1 (which itself carries the legendary million-dollar-a-bullet price tag). The Tournament is set up by a group of sick high-stake billionaires who watch the mayhem unfold via CCTV and bet on its outcome.[1] Each of the assassins carry a tracking device, embedded under their skin, allowing the observers to monitor the Tournaments movements and the assassins to track each other. When one removes his tracker and throws it into a coffee machine, a local priest (Robert Carlyle) who inadvertently swallows it is caught in the crossfire.

Review:
If you can appreciate Kelly Hu's appearance, Ving Rhames being a badass (one of his best roles imo), and lots of violence, then The Tournament might be for you.
There isn't much of a plot other than assassins trying to be the last man standing. A priest gets caught up in the mayhem. And Ving Rhames's character (a previous winner of the tournament) is looking for revenge on the person who killed his family.
The film is almost like a poor-man's Battle Royale (2000). There's also a feel of Bloodsport (1988), with lots of martial arts scenes.
The direction is nothing special. There's the impression of someone who's trying to capture the frentic pace of the Bourne films or the recent Bond films, but not quite knowing how to achieve it.
Nothing artistic here. Nothing award winning. Heads get blown off. Strippers run for their lives. Its just a fun, violent action flick.
