I'm really angry....mad as hell, to be more specific...I'll explain myself:
As you can see on my awful english, I'm spanish. Well, here, in Spain, our loved Ministry of Culture gave SAW VI an X rating. Yes. For that masterminds Saw VI (and only this one) is a pornographic movie.
This implies the movie can only be exhibited in 8 theatres (I didn't know there were only 8 x rated cinemas in spain), and some of that 8 theatres can't exhibit the movie because the machines (that machine to put the movie....sorry, i don't know it's name in english: proyector) are too old for the format the movie is filmed in. Fearing the large loss of money, the producer has stopped the opening of saw VI in Spain. Also any marketing is forbidden, and people under 18 is BANNED, alone or with an adult.
And my question is: What the hell are they thinking? Why an x rating? They say Saw makes "Violence apology"....WHAT? and the other 5?. Extreme violence....What about HOSTEL, dear Minister?. Too much blood: BRAINDEAD had no problems in Spain, for God's sake.
Let's talk about apology: the Minister of culture (the same bitch has given a horror movie an X) wrote the script of "Mentiras y gordas" (big fat lies), a movie basically about teenagers having sex and snorting cocaine. No argument, no lessons. Teenage unprotected sex is funny and drugs are cool. Great movie for 15 years old boys and girls (they were the target public).
In Spain we had decades of fighting against the rest of the world seeing us as an untracatholic conservative country. Keep on trying, Ministry of Culture. You are doing really fine.
