Well, the third entry in the Austin Powers series is only a week away. From the previews and trailers, I really didn't think this was going to be too good, but hopefully it'll surprise me. What are your thoughts and reviews?

Well, I thought the first film was good, as for the second, I enjoyed it, but it used way too many jokes from the first again.
As for this next installment, I am kind of looking forward to it. But I'm afraid it's going to use the same old jokes from the first two films. And I really don't want to sit down for 90 minutes watching jokes that have already been used.
I'm not expecting anything from Goldmember. But I really hope it turns out to be the best Austin Powers flick.

I really can't wait for Goldmember.
The new trailer that showcases Fred Savage and his hairy mole is hilarious.
The Austin Powers flicks are all incredibly stupid, but oh so much fun. Hopefully this one will be as good as the first two.

I don't know what to think about this movie. I saw the trailer and Goldmember (the character) looks terrible. I don't know why they introduced him, maybe because they just needed a reference to Goldfinger, but he doesn't look good at all. Beyonce Knowles has nice breasts and a nice hair cut, but that's it...she doesn't look as good as Elizabeth Hurley and Heather Graham in the first two flicks, that's for sure.
I'm also afraid, like everyone here, that they'll re-use the same jokes all over again. That's what they did already: in THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME they used a lot of jokes that were already in INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY, but as there was a lot of new jokes, it worked pretty good -- but it's not a stunt you can pull off twice.
The news Mike Sampson revealed earlier about the opening scene starring Britney Spears, Tom Cruise, Steven Spielberg and Kevin Spacey sounds hilarious though, and could all by its own be worth seeing the movie.
So I dunno...I say "wait and see"...

I'm of the "wait and see" opinion, too. Goldmember looked quite unfunny, but Michael Caine looked really funny. Beyonce looks like she'll be the worst of the Powers ladies despite her hotness. And where'd Mini-Austin go? Did they just ditch him completely after how unfunny the Mini-Austin trailers were?

Yeah baby! I haven't even seen the second one, but I enjoyed the first one and the trailers look decent but I'll have to hear some reviews before I check it out...

It's not a mini-Austin. It's mini-me dressed up like Austin. Thats why he's attacking Beyonce in the preview. I can't wait for this movie, I loved the 1st 2 and I know this one will be just as, or more, hilarious.

Maybe it will be answered in the movie, but here's a plot hole that's been bothering me: If Austin was frozen in 1967, then how could he have "an old flame (Cleopatra)" in 1975? He skipped to the 90s.

I have a bad feeling about this one...probably just another lame rehash.
A telling sign, at least for me, is that everytime the trailer has played in theaters, the audience didn't laugh. Once. Like Steve Buscemi said in FARGO, total fuckin' silence. Maybe its me, but the Austin Powers character has a limited shelf life. There's only so much of him that I can take.

My local theatre has it opening Thursday night, but only at 10pm and 10:30pm. It is reportedly an advanced screening sort of thing like they did with HARRY POTTER and LORD OF THE RINGS at midnight. Well, I'll be there at 10 on Thursday.

**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**
Ah, easier said than done! See, in the first film, he was frozen in 1967 and reawakened in 1997 to combat Dr. Evil. In the second film it is still 1997 (the movie opens just after Austin and Vanessa get married and make sweet sex) - Dr. Evil time travels back to 1969 to steal Austin Powers' mojo. Austin, feeling lost without his lifeforce, travels to 1969, meets Ms. Shagwell, defeats Dr. Evil, realizes he doesn't need his mojo to appear hot to the ladies, and returns to the present day with Ms. Shagwell. In the third film I believe it is either 1999 or 2002 now. Goldmember, a thug for Dr. Evil, kidnaps Austin's father in 1975, so Austin travels to 1975. (Austin leaves Ms. Shagwell in the beginning of the movie, but I have no clue how they pull this one off. In TSWSM it turns out Vanessa was a Fembot. So how will Felicity turn out? A bad couple or what??) There Austin meets Foxxy Cleopatra, they team up to get Austin's father back, and at the same time we learn why Dr. Evil and Austin's father became enemies. (This occurs in 1955 but there is no time travel back to this Academy scene, but I am not sure on that.)
I probably screwed that up, but hey, I love those movies (stupid but funny) and I cannot wait for Goldmember. I'd rather have Die Another Day or XXX, but I can wait.

I thought the first Austin Powers was pretty funny, but I caught it on TV a while ago and a second viewing did not hold up. Part of the fun was that the film was spontaneous, you didnt know what the hell to expect, but now you did and the jokes themselves weren't all that funny. I hated the second one, I laughed maybe twice but I thought it was all lame gross-out jokes and Austin's schtick has grown so very thin. The trailers for the next one are awful, I thought they were supposed to capture the highlights of the film but these just blow. I work in a theater and may see it while working so i dont waste time or money (Ill actually make money for watching it), and it's gonna attract thousands of obnoxious preteens, we just had Mr. Deeds so that horror is still way to fresh in my mind. This franchise is tired, maybe not at the box office but for me it certainly is.
I'm looking forward to checking out Beyonce Knowles. She only has that one line in the trailers, (My name's Foxxy Cleopatra, and I'm a WHOLE lotta WOMAN!") but I think she might be surprisingly funny & real. She's caught some charisma there. Then again, nobody could do a worse job than Heather Graham. Her portayal of F. Shagwell is the WORST comic performance I have ever seen by an actress, possibly any performance by an actress actually. What a cardboard cut-out lifeless nothingfull performance. Why does she have a career? Someone remind me. Oh ya, I forgot, she's hot.

Well, I'll agree with you on that point. I've been looking forward to this movie for a lot of reasons, not the least of which being SETH GREEN. Is it just me or is he totally underrated as a comedic talent? Anyway, I was reading somewhere the the scenes between Myers and Green were almost entirely adlibbed. Which is great, IMO, stuff like that turns out to be the funniest of all.

Here's Berardinelli's review (2.5 stars):
When Mike Myers and Jay Roach introduced the world to Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery in 1997, their intention was to make a one-off spoof of James Bond movies and '60s culture. The movie did okay at the box office, then exploded in popularity once it hit home video. The result was 1999's Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, which achieved blockbuster status. Thus was born another franchise with deeper roots in money and popularity than in creativity. Would the movie-going world be any worse off without Austin Powers in Goldmember? Absolutely not, but New Line Cinema wanted their piece of the 2002 summer box office, and this was their only legitimate shot at it. (It's hard to take issue with them, though, since they risked a lot of money on Peter Jackson's initially unproven The Lord of the Rings trilogy.)
In all fairness to the film, it is superior to the disappointing second movie in the series. The comedy is about as low-brow as it can get (at least without treading into R-rated territory). There are characters named "Fook Mi" and "Fook Yu", a mole the size of a fingernail, and the obligatory sexual innuendo. Gross-out humor abounds, from the flatulence of Fat Bastard to the truly disgusting behavior of the newest villain, Goldmember (who peels off bits of dried skin and eats them). And the movie isn't hard-up for penis jokes, which comprise about 1/3 of the film's laugh-inducing material. Subtle witticisms and incisive satire are not common - those elements would be above the heads of the target teen audience. Not that the avalanche of crude humor is all bad. When it works, it can be hilarious (as is the case on several occasions). But when it fails, it comes across as badly conceived and juvenile. (The "looser" you are, the more likely you are to appreciate Goldmember - not that I'm advocating imbibing beforehand.)
For Goldmember, the versatile Mike Myers adds a fourth character. In addition to playing Austin, his nemesis Dr. Evil, and the unbelievably obese Scotsman Fat Bastard (who's only in a few scenes), Myers essays Goldmember, a twisted associate of Dr. Evil who lost his genitals in a smelting accident. Goldmember, who looks like a Star Trek reject, wants to destroy the world using a tractor beam (codenamed "Preparation H") aimed at a solid gold asteroid. For some reason, he has also kidnapped Austin's dad, Nigel. As the International Man of Mystery's father, Michael Caine has an opportunity to put his mimicry skills to the test (Nigel evidences many of the same mannerisms as Austin). Caine, who was Harry Palmer in the '60s series of spy movies based on Len Deighton's novels, gets a chance to try out the lighter side of the kind of character he once played seriously. Beyoncé Knowles is Blaxsploitation-inspired Foxxy Cleopatra, Austin's latest love interest. While the "Destiny's Child" performer shows better comic timing than Heather Graham, she displays minimal screen presence and fades into the background whenever possible. Fred Savage, all grown up, is Number Three, a man with an obvious facial disfigurement. And the "regulars" - Basil Exposition (Michael York), Number Two (Robert Wagner), Scott Evil (Seth Green), Frau Farbissina (Mindy Sterling), and Mini-Me (Verne J. Troyer) - are all back.
As was true of the previous Austin Powers films, this one uses the saturation approach to comedy - throw so many jokes at the audience that, even if only a fraction of them stick, the final product will be deemed funny. When Goldmember is delivering its best material, it's a highly entertaining experience. The first ten minutes represent the movie's pinnacle - a cameo-rich sequence that starts out as a parody of a spoof before turning into a surreal musical production number. Later, there are naughty subtitles and a vulgar-but-clever bit featuring some unusual "shadow puppetry". There's also a gratuitous trip back to the '70s that features new lyrics to some K.C. and the Sunshine Band tunes and a brief lip-synching appearance by Nathan Lane. In between all of this, however, we are treated to a lot of grotesque comedy that's more likely to turn stomachs than provoke laughter, re-treads of jokes from the other Austin Powers outings, and new stuff that lacks inspiration or dilutes its source material. (The "Fook Mi/Fook Yu" routine echoes Abbott and Costello's "Who's on First?" and the Mole-on-the-Face-Avoidance recalls a skit from "The Germans" episode of "Fawlty Towers".)
One of the blessings of Goldmember is that it's only 90 minutes long, but, after three Austin Powers installments, that's 4 1/2 hours spent in the company of this goofy band of characters. Qualities that were once amusing are becoming irritating. It's a tribute to the popularity of the International Man of Mystery that he's still going strong, even if comedic aptitude of his adventures is losing steam. (Austin Powers is no Inspector Closeau, but he could end up becoming as long-running a character as the Blake Edwards/Peter Sellers creation.) If Mike Myers and Jay Roach want to get out of the rut they have fallen into, they're going to have to do a little innovation next time Austin Powers reaches the screens.
Just got back from Goldmember...(mild spoilers)
I'd say go see it. It is worth it for the opening scene. The humour through out is very childish, but if you are in the mood you'll love it, and even if you are not you'll probably laugh out loud at least a couple of times. It did seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel in some places though- especially the plot. A bit where the osbornes turn up and say they think they've seen this before is very apt (Only they use more bleeps than that of course)
I'd give Goldmember a solid 6.5 out of 10, but I would say they have reached the point of diminishing returns, and any attempt to get a 4th film out of the franchise would probably be a bad idea.
P.S. How the hell are they selling this movie in Holland? "Come see the movie, we mock you badly"?

I liked the movie. The plot is non-existant and some of the jokes fell flat but it has many laugh out loud parts. Vern Troyer stole the movie for me. 7/10
Just got back 10 minutes ago from AP3 and I and the whole theater laughed through most of this movie. And I mean laughed. I really wasn't expecting to, but there are some parts, especially the first 10 minutes, that are worth the price of admission all on there own. You will not believe the opening sequence! Best of all 3 by far. This movie is going to make......billions?

This film is hilarious. Mike Myers is a comic genius and Verne Troyer was great. When Mini-Me donned the Austin Powers costume I laughed my butt off. The first 10 minutes were great. Danny Devito was awesome and so was Kevin Spacey. John Travolta was a suprise. Seth Green's hair was freaky. It is hard to write a really great review of this film, all I can say is go see it right now.

Let me start off by saying I am giving this puppy a solid 8.5 out of 10.
It's too hard to write a review of this flick, it just is. I laughed through very much of it. It adds some new material and adds onto existing material as well. The first 10 minutes, besides worth the ticket price alone, is a great way to segue into the film. The ending blew me away - I never saw it coming and you won't either. Leave your brain at home for this one because you don't need it.
APIG brings back all the cast - Scott and Dr. Evil, Mini-Me, Austin himself, Basil, Frau Farbissina, Number Two. Verne Troyer stole the show this time around - for those of you who saw the preview tonight as well, anyone recall the diving board joke? OMG I nearly died!!
All in all I know I haven't said much. I need to see it again though, maybe two more times. One of my top five comedies - paper thin plot, great jokes, though a few fall flat. I hope a fourth film isn't made - this film is the perfect ending to the AP Trilogy.

That said - I couldn't sotp laughing, and I give "Goldmember" a very solid 8.5/10.

I didn't like the cameos. The world in an Austin Powers movie is a fictional place separate from reality. There's no WO, Belgin Evil Doctors, or impromptu dance numbers here in our normal world just like there should be any Tom Cruises or Gwynith Paltrows there in that funnier world. The time taken to showcase the celebs could've been use to make Goldmember a more worthwhile villian or alot more banter between Dr. Evil and his henchmen(some of the best stuff in the first two movies). You can give the Burt B. and Elvis Costello cameos in the first two exceptions because they're not going to be on hand whenever Austin wants them and introduced by Austin himself in our real world.
The two Japanese tourists would have been much better as agents in disguise and then as main sidekicks than Beyonce's minor contribution of blaxplotation in her role as a sidekick. Now that would be cool.
Dr. Evil and Austin from the start of the movie seemed to facilitate jokes out of character. I don't think Austin of the first movie would have taken any notice of Number 3's large mole. Even with all the stuff that Austin should have learned with the first movie and the jokes made at his expense he finds that guy's mole amusing and we're supposed to laugh with Austin at that. Austin is supposed to be groovy. That seems out of character.
***Spoilers***
Good:
Dr. Evil as Hannibal
Dr. Evil with Mini-Me music number

Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002)
Rated PG-13 for Sexual Innuendo, Crude Humor, and Some Language
Director: Jay Roach
Starring Mike Myers, Beyonce Knowles, Seth Green, Michael York, Robert Wagner, Mindy Sterling, Verne Troyer, and Michael Caine.

Austin Powers (Mike Myers) is back once again, and he has just foiled another so-called "master plan" by his long time nemesis, Dr. Evil (Mike Myers). While Dr. Evil and his clone, Mini-Me (Verne Troyer) are sent to a high secrurity prison, Austin Powers discovers that his father, Nigel Powers (Michael Caine), has been kidnapped by a man named Goldmember (Mike Myers once again!). Austin then decides to try to rescue his father along with the help of his old flame, and fellow secret agent, Foxxy Cleopatra (Beyonce Knowles).
Let me just give you a quick rundown... "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" was a highly enjoyable, and very funny spoof on the James Bond films. The film's first sequel, "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" was also enjoyable and funny, but I thought it used way too many of the same jokes from it's predecessor.
Now, three years later after the second installment, we have the second sequel, "Austin Powers in Goldmember". I will admit, despite looking forward to this film, I was not expecting anything. I thought the trailers were lame, and just did not come off as being funny. However, my attitude towards the film drastically changed after the hilarious opening sequence which features so many great cameos. Once that sequence was finished and done with, the movie never slows down, or stops delivering the laughs. It does manage to throw in a few old jokes from it's predecessors, but I didn't feel like it overdid it.
Mike Myers, the mastermind behind these films is back to play not one, not two, not even three... but four roles this time around! Just like in the first two films, Myers does a great job, and delivers laughs aplenty.
In this sequel, all the main characters are back from the first two films, but we are all introduced to a new villain, and a new leading lady. The villian would be the title character which is "Goldmember", a Dutch lunatic who loves to dance to disco songs that have been tweaked to put his own name into them, and loves to showcase his unbelievable flexability to mostly everyone. As for the leading lady, that would be "Foxxy Cleopatra", played by Beyonce Knowles, the lead singer of the popular hit pop group, "Destiny's Child".
I'm gonna be honest with you all, Goldmember is a somewhat funny character, but after several minutes, he becomes so annoying. His character just didn't work that well for me. It's cool that Mike Myers wanted to add and play another character, but I could've done without him. As for Ms. Beyonce Knowles, she really did not act at all. Her character is just something Myers whipped up, and mixed with with what she appears to be like in real life... which is charming, charismatic, and sexy. And guess what? It works.
One of the other things I enjoyed about "Austin Powers in Goldmember" was how some of the characters are given so much more to do. Those characters I am referring to are Seth Green's 'Scott Evil", and Verne Troyer's "Mini-Me". They both are awesome, and mostly every scene they appear in with "Dr. Evil" is just hilarious!
If there are any complaints I have about this film, it would have to be the total waste of Robert Wagner, Mindy Sterling, Michael York, and the *other* new character I failed to mention... and that would be the father of our favorite international spy, "Nigel Powers", played by Michael Caine. Caine is very good, and one look at him, and you know he's having a blast. However, it was disappointing to see that he was given such a small role. It felt way too much like one of the many cameos in the film, just a little longer.
I had a blast watching "Austin Powers in Goldmember". It is hands-down the best film in this series. I really enjoyed the film a lot. It's stupid and crude comedy at it's best since "There's Something About Mary". I hope there will be another "Austin Powers" flick hitting theaters in the future, for I am nowhere near becoming tired of seeing all these wacky characters that I have grown to like so frickin' (long live the good Dr.) much!

After seeing Austin Powers in Goldmember I would give it an 8.5/10...It was highly enjoyable and had some funny moments...Dr. Evil and Mini-Me stole the show in their scenes...*Spoilers* The "Hard Knock Life" rap song in the prison was funny...The "Mole" scenes were great and Myers did a great job on the reactions *End Spoilers*...soem jokes didn't work for me...like Fat Bastard but overall I enjoyed myself and will probably see it again....
The only reason I went to see this movie is because the Beautiful Beyonce was in it. In fact, I just saw Mike Meyers movie on TV, I think it was Part2 which I didn't even see all of that. I know I shouldn't have went to this movie but I wanted to see Beyonce do the whole Pam Grier thing. Lord forgive me for going, They know what they're doing. Beyonce, you're beautiful and you don't need to be in filth like this. Maybe you will want to follow beautiful Michelle from Destiny's child. She just made a Gospel album. Well it's your cholce.

That’s what many people were probably asking themselves before they would see this movie. This is the third and probably the last Austin Powers movie. So people would think if it would live up two the other two hysterical films.I was really exited to see this film I must say,the other two were comic gems and this one looked pretty good too.So I walked into the theatre not knowing if I would come out with a smile, something which I really needed. And ladies and gentleman,I got that smile.
Well in the third instalment of the Powers Saga,Mini-Men and Dr.Evil are sent off into a maximum security prison. After managing to escape they team up with Goldmember.A crazy dutch man who well basically loves gold.So they team up to rule the world, along side with there other evil genius. They kidnap Austin’s father Nigel Powers. So Austin along side with Foxy Cleopatra they try to stop Evil from taking over the world and save his father.
The first five minutes was just too funny,I say worth the admission price alone.Once you see it you’ll know what I mean.Lot’s of the jokes and gags were brought back from the original. But I still found myself laughing my head off.The scene in the prison where Mini-Me and Dr.Evil sing a rap version of “It’s a Hard Life”was funny and cool to listen too.Mini-Me was so cute and funny, him in his little Austin Powers suit was so cute.Him waving around his gun, sinning and all.And yet never says a single word.
The gags were just funny, espically with Dr.Evil.The writers really brought this third instalment to memorable level.Almost every scene in this film had me laughing so hard it hurt. “Moley,Moley,Moley!”
The only problem I did have were some of the older jokes would last too long and would bore me.And that Goldmember was basically stupid, like seriously. The man peels his skin and he eats it.Luckily he had Dr.Evil or Powers to back him up.
Michael Cane’s character was almost like the opposite of Indy’s father. He is just like his son,Austin.Seducing women and getting them into the sack.Every women he laid eyes on he had to have.Hmmm sound familiar?I found his character very funny and a relief of all of those other up tight Hollywood fathers. And if you know the trend in a third film in a film series you’ll probably know what happens in this.
Something else that sort of ticked me off was all of the product placement in this film. When the trend first started I really didn’t mind, but know it is just getting annoying.Let me give you a few of the product placement’s in this film.
*A Mini
*The laptops
*Celular Phones
*Preperation H
*Pepsi
That’s basically all I can remember.I don’t want to go on and on about them but I really think it is getting out of hand.
Well that all being said and done I just want to say that Goldmember is just as good as the other two.The jokes and gags will have you laughing so hard Robin Williams would be impressed. This is the funniest film I have seen all year, well a side from Orange County. Before you go see XxX check this out, again and again.

Austin Powers in Goldmember: 8/10
A hilarious movie. Mini Me stole the movie. Dr Evil and Austin were hilarious as usual. The opening sequence was definatly the best.
i also was glad to see Fred Savage again

mini-me and powers working together to stop dr. evil was one of the funiest scenes i have ever watched. i eyes were watering so much i could barely see the scene. as for the movie as a whole... shit, its austin powers it was just what i thought it would be. the humor was very similar to the first two, but that was alright. even the movie made fun of it. i think the movie was like a 7/10.

I saw it last night and was a little disappointed. Mike Myers is running out of ideas, as he is just recycling jokes from the previous two, and they are getting tiresome. Plus I didn't like the ending and thought it had too many urine jokes.
It still had it moments, mainly with DR.Evil, Mini Me and some celebrite cameos.
If you enjoyed the previous two you may enjoy it, but I think it is beter to wait till video.

The first trailer for this film didn't grab me. But as more trailers came out. They became funny, but, in the case of this movie that was a bad thing.
The Acting was what you would expect from such a comedy, flat out goofy and not meant to be taken seriously and noone is trying to earn any oscars here. Mike Myers wasn't as good as the previous movies. Dr. Evil didn't seem the same, maybe it was just me. Beyonce was boring and not funny. Michael Cane wasn't any good. Seth green was all right. Overall everyone was just OK.
The story is nothing. What do you expect. The movie just uses a plot smaller than a dust particle and throws some jokes in it. This worked for the first and second one, when the jokes were new. Some were funny but many of them failed. A few were unexpected. The reason I stated earlier that the trailers being funny were a bad idea, because many of the new jokes were featured in them. The Mole is sitll very funny, second favorite part of the film next to the scene with the statue. But again jokes were reused from previous movies and weren't funny. The opening sequence which many adored, I hated. It was boring and the opening for the second movie was much more humorous. I didn't even find the cameos entertaining as many others did.
See this movie if you want to see recycled jokes. See this movie for the few funny scenes it does have. Don't see it expecting another great addition to the AP series. My advice is to wait for DVD. Austin Powers did the BAD thing and gets a 5/10.
Austin Powers: Man of Mystery- 8/10
Austin Powers: Spy who shagged me- 9/10
Austin Powers: Goldmember- 5/10

Frickin' hilarious.
Just when I think sophomoric comedy is a dying art, along comes another Austin Powers flick.
Thank you, Mike Myers! I laughed out loud ten times as much as I have at all of the other comedies I've seen this year combined.

Austin Powers in Goldmember i give a B+. I think it is the best one in the trilogy. I started watching the first one again and thought it was not even close to as funny as Goldmember.
Goldmember B+
Spy Who Shagged Me B
International Man of Mystery B-
I laughed a lot. I also groaned a lot. But it's the kind of movie where the groans are just as much fun as the laughs.

i am a huge austin fan, but sadly this momvie let me down... al lot of the jokes were not really funny or played out on the commercials (mole). everyone seemed off on the game, especially mike myers as dr evil. i dunno but he just wasn't the same. i didn't buy that whole mini-me turning good, i thought he was justy setting austin up, although i have to admit the austin/mini me teamup was pretty funny. goldmember and nigel powers were stupid and unfunny. i think that this movie suffered from too many new additions who weren't funny. and what was up with frau and #2??? they were hilarious in the first two and they're reduced to nothin in this movie. i also didn't like the ending in which they are all family, i was also hoping that dr. evil would push them all into the pool w/ the sharks w/ laser beams attached to their heads. anyway, beyonce was great in her role although, i think they should've given her more to do.
3. Austin Powers in Goldmember - 7/10
2. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery - 9/10
1. Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me - 10/10

I didn't feel that dr. evil was the same either. I'm glad i'm not the only one that felt that way. When sitting there watching the film, I thought this to myself many times.

Yeah, Dr. Evil seemed more animated than prissy like his last two outings. But I still thought he was hilarious. And how come nobody likes Goldmember? Everytime he was onscreen I laughed. And those cameos at the first and last were hysterical! I especially liked the appearance of the guy who played Goldmember.

I enjoyed it but I can see why people did not really enjoy the character of Goldmember much, he didn't really have a very big part to play.
I think they did try to squeeze too many new characters in.
But overall I enjoyed it and yes I groaned a couple of times but it was worth it just to see the opening, it was better than some James Bond movies for Christ sake!
If you laughed out loud at all at anytime during the first two I recommend seeing this, just make it a matinee.

First off I am a huge Austin Powers fan I loved the first two and bought the action figures. That being said I couldn't wait to see this movie, but feel a little let down. Dr. Evil was not as interesting and funny as he used to be, second of all there was just too much going on. All of the flashbacks and attempted twists got tiresome. Not to mention too many characters. However many of the jokes were quite funny I don't mind the repetition of them especially that they made it a running joke. I did like the whole idea of making a movie within a movie and just spoofing the movie industry in general, that was cool. Overall I think the movie didn't feel like the previous two and it had too much going on, on the whole I still enjoyed it.

Just got back from seeing Austin Powers, I thought it was the best of the three movies. I didn't like the character of Goldmember that much, but he did make me laugh at times. Mini-Me stole the show, and each time The Mole was present, the whole audience were in stitches.

Saw it last night, and I think everybody who's posted has some valid points. However, it was more than worth going to see. Something about Mike Myers just makes me laugh. Every once in a while it is fun to suspend disbelief, not look for plot holes, and laugh your ass off at fart and dick jokes. I think the reason they didn't focus on Mindy Sterling (Frau) and Robert Wagner (Number 2) as much this time out was to give Seth Green (Scott Evil) and Vern Troyer (Mini-Me) the opportunity to showcase their collective comedic skills. Which are there in abundance. These two absolutely stole the movie. How Vern Troyer shows so much range and emotion without saying a word, I'll never know. His facial expressions are uncanny. The only things I think fell flat were Goldmember himself and Michael Caine (Nigel Powers). Michael Caine just is unfunny. Seth Green, however, shines. Along w/Mini-Me, they could be a franchise unto themselves.
All in all, I don't think this was as funny as AP-IMOM, and definitely not as funny as AP-TSWSM, but more than worth the time and money. I hope they do AP-4.

This is a trilogy. This is not the best but not the worst Austin Powers. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, was by far the funniest one yet. Goldmember is pretty funny, but it is just repetitive stuff. Like the shadow in the doctor office. I liked and you probably will too. It's funny I would give it a 7/10. It's pretty funny.

Hey folks, I was reading this week's issue of "Entertainment Weekly" and I got news from Jay Roach. It seems the first cut of GOLDMEMBER was, gasp, three hours long or so! He cut the movie in half...he said the DVD will have all the deleted footage and more. One such scene involves a dance number in downtown Tokyo. The last song of the soundtrack is the song everyone is dancing too. We also get more of Mr. Bigglesworth, Ms. Shagwell, and young Number Two. I thought a certain pussy was missing! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif I meant the cat, not Shagwel. *shutters*
Looks like this November we'll see the DVD out as well. All of this summer's hits will be on shelves by the end of November, including SPIDER-MAN, ATTACK OF THE CLONES, MINORITY REPORT, GOLDMEMBER, and MEN IN BLACK 2. I got this info from a low level worker at 20th Century. I talked to him about the MR DVD...eh, I best start another post about that one. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

I saw this a week after it came out and I LOVED it! It was much funnier than the previous two films and there are SO many celebrities in it I can't think of them all. If you haven't seen it yet... GO SEE IT! You're guarenteed to laugh hard. I give it an 8.5 1/2!!! AWESOME!

I finally got a chance to see this film, the latest in the Austin Powers series, and I'm happy to say that I enjoyed it. As always, the movie is full of jokes that work and some that don't work or are just plain gross. Overall it's better that The Spy Who Shagged me but not as good as International Man of Mystery.
Like the other two, the movie is less about spoofing James Bond flicks than it is about spoofing pop culture. With product placements galore, hardly anything is left unmentioned. The best part though is definitely the opening scene. I won't reveal who's in it but there are tons of celebrity cameos and it's very funny. As for the new characters, I didn't like Goldmember at all. He was pretty stupid and unfunny. Foxxy Cleopatra was an okay character, but unfortunately Beyonce over-acted big-time and blew it. The best new character was Michael Caine as Nigel, Austin's father. He was great at imitating Austin and was very fun to watch. Even though the new characters were mediocre, we still had Austin, Dr. Evil, Scott, Mini-Me, and Fat Bastard to hoard us over with laughter. Again the plot makes no sense, but it doesn't matter because this movie's sole purpose is to entertain, and it does quite well in doing that.
7/10
Austin Powers 1: 8/10
Austin Powers 2: 6/10

This series ran it's course after the first one,and number 2 was a true labor to watch.
I have no problem with sophmoric humor, but i feel the scary movies films were more entertaining and witty than the AP films.Mike Myers, although talented,is extremely annoying. He elicits some giggles, but overall, his AP character inspires beat down tendencies in the viewer(when i saw the first i wanted to ring his neck because he's not funny,he's just a wink at the camera saturday night cast off).
Shut up already,it's over, and no amount of star cameos,or respected dramatic actors from another generation can save it.That midget(oh sorry, little people)is just godawful dreadful.Another sight gag that has run it's course(but he's raking in the duckets so all is allright),there's just nothing funny about mini pee anymore. In fact, after the first couple of scenes he was in ,in the first film,he overstayed his welcome.
All those different characters he plays blow big time,i did'nt find not one of them funny in the least,or even ingenious.MM is just a wannabe Eddie Murphy, with only half his talent.
Please, end this joke of a series now,i've suffered long enough with this tripe, and those annoying quotes(i thought that whole wayne's world obsession was annoying, but this is even worse). If i hear one more person say yeah baby,i'm going to run amock.

Lucky me, I saw the origanal a long time ago so I didn't remember the jokes. And the spy who shagged me I saw the first day I think and now the jokes are out of my head. So when the old jokes came on they were funny. Crikey this movie RULES. Min Me is funny as hell as Mini Austin. The behind the curtain scene so halarious. And the part when Austin was swinging Mini Me around in a pilo case was halarious too. And of course my favourite parts of THE MOLE "I'll chop that bloody thing right off and make some guacaMOLEy outta that" hahahaha and Number 3:"I know I have a big huge mole on my face" Austin:" I don't see a mole, where's that mole" and finnaly: Glad to mole you, I mean glad to meet your mole, moley moley moley. This movies rocks go see it this movie has more laugs in 10 seconds than in some fully lenth movies. Moley Moley Moley.

You people need your heads examined! You think this movie was funny? It SUCKED!! I loved the first two and was really excited to see this one. But dear God was I disappointed! I have never walked out of a movie in my life, and I wasn't going to give this one the satisfaction of being my first. But I did almost fall asleep twice, and I was BOOOOOORED throughout the entire movie. Mike Myers has indeed run out of ideas. This movie was made for 12yr olds. If you want to watch REAL comedy, find BEING THERE or an old Woddy Allen. This was not comedy. This was stupid...bottom line, AUSTIN HAS NO POWERS anymore.

This movie sucked big time. Nothing but recycled skits thrown together, some of which weren't funny the first time around. The new "jokes" sucked even harder. How many times will we go back to the "mole" joke in one movie? I wanted to smash my head in watching this. I can't count how many times I rolled my eyes at this. Myers needs to put this one in the ground.
Funeral oration baby!
2/10, the two is for Beyonce, and not for her acting ability either.
