Mickey Rourke...Am I the only one in his corner?

The only reason I ask is because during the trailer for "Get Carter" I heard some sneers and laughs when Mickey Rourke's name came up. He is an awesome villan and he has the chops and the ego to pull it off. Yeah he has done some awful movies but he was pretty good in some smaller roles he has taken over the last couple of years (Rain Maker for one). If all goes well at the box office I would like to see Mickey and Stallone back at the top!

Any thoughts?

I have often enjoyed Mickey Rourke in the movies...films like "Buffalo 66", "Angel Heart", "Barfly" and "HomeBoy"...but he really has done some questionable films, not concerning raciness but rather his own egocentric self...not to mention public opinion concerning his run-ins with the law, woman-beating, strip club enthusiasm...the list goes on and on...that is how the fickle finger of fate works my friend...

As far as Sly goes...I admire him for banging Neve Campbell in that pool, at his age...though I hated that tall blonde creature he was with years back...and what was with "Stop!...Or My Mom Will Shoot"...I liked him best as the deaf/mute retard cop in "Copland".

Mickey is my favorite actor. He use to be the shite but he lost his way. I mean Barfly, Pope Of Greenwich Village, Rumble Fish, Diner, Angel Heart, 9 and a half weeks...all great performances. He had something other actors didn't and I hope Get Carter will get him back on top. You go Mick!

Mickey's all good...even though he once snubbed my 8-year old brother asking for an autograph in Beverly Hills during his 9 1/2 WEEKS peak, I still hope that he makes some kind of come-back. Poor bastard's face has gone through enough!! Mickey!!!!!!!!
