i rented this movie and am watching it tomorrow night. I have heard a lot of good stuff about it, what do the shmoes think of it?

GREAT anime flick, good voice-overs, original plot, great animation. i think i read somewhere that it was the highest grossing film of all-time in japan until Titanic came along. dunno about that though..

In fact the film is still the highest grossing film ever in Japan. It beated Titanic easily.

I guess I have to order the film from aboard on DVD, since it still hasn't arrived to Finnish theatres. Can't wait to see it.

One of my favorite animated films ever. I was worried that the voices from Japan not returning for America (having it subtitled) would be a bad thing. To say the least I was very wrong.

Mononoke was pretty darn good in my opinion. The animaton was great, the action was well-paced and eventhough the plot wasn't always that clear to me (must be because I saw the japanese version), I never once was bored during the film's 2 hours+ run. Recommended.
