bob,

Way back in the day, during one of my high school Spanish classes, I had the chance to check out a great little film called "El Norte" (directed by Gregory Nava). The movie was about a young Mexican couple who were looking to find a way into America, to seek out a new life and find freedom. I don't know much about Spanish/Mexican films but I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

The yahoo search engines can provide you at least basic information about the main movies in this countries. You can find there things as directors, actors, years, etc.

I don't have problems with the Spanish (but serious problems with my english) but if there is anything I can help you, contact me.

A couple recomendations:
"Todo sobre mi madre" of Pedro Almodovar (1999) and "Amores Perros" (2000). Very good movies.
