Been British I don't get much to shout about but I have 2 give credit where it is due! Aprt from Guy Ritchie the only Britsh film maker that in my opinion can hold his head up high is DANNY BOYLE. With his support in the form of McDONALD and HODGE. I mean together they have made hits like Shallow Grave, Trainspoting, The Beach, or the one with Ewan McGregor and Cameron Diaz! My personal favourite would have to be TRAINSPOTTING! I was just wondering
a) was this film released in the US
b) wot did u think of it?

All comments about Boyle and co would b widely excepted!

I'm agreeing with *veers* all of those (exceopt the four I've never heard of) are great directors, there are oh so many more than just the recent hits like Ritchie and Boyle. However, the are also both great and Trainspotting is one of my all-time favorite films (yes it was released in the US, widely too I believe) But one or possibly two great films (I hated The Beach and Shallow Grave wasn't awesome either) does not make someone "The only Brittish director able to hold his head up" Do some research check out some great films from your country and then maybe redecide using that quote...
