Just about everyone who has seen test screenings has been enthusiastic about the film. Even those, who thought it was going to suck. Nick park, who writes and directs the film, is a genius. Anyone who has seen Wallace and Gromit short movies can confirm that. Every review so far also says that the film is very intelligent and not a strict kiddie film. I wasn't impressed about the trailer either, but sometimes great films have mediocre trailers. My worst fear is that the film is indeed as great as everyone says it is, but it will still bomb at the box office because of the bad marketing campaign.
i agree.i have wanted to see the movie ever since i heard about it back in january.

Well, I just saw the movie and...I was one of the many people who didn't really care to see the movie after seeing the so-so trailer but...let me tell you that I liked it a lot!
My full review should be up by Monday at the latest, but I am giving it a 7.5/10 (very good movie). It's basically a mix of THE GREAT ESCAPE, TOY STORY 2, with a little bit of INDIANA JONES tossed in for fun. It's funny, it's cute, it's light on its feet, and the chickens are just too darn cute!
The awesome score also helped.
Bring the kids, enjoy the sights and sounds, and don't worry about the runtime, which is only about 85 minutes or so. A welcome addition to the action movie summer so far.
It's cluckolicious!! (Sorry, but I just had to!)

I just read a few reviews for the film and they were saying that the trailer has none of the best scenes of the film. This is good, in a way, because the film can now surprise me more. I'm just afraid that the film will bomb, because people think that the trailer sucked. Good word of mouth won't help much if the film falls flat in it's first weekend. The number of theaters will collapse and the people can't see the film even if their friends say it's good. And all that could mean that we will never see a Wallace And Gromit film (I've heard they are already in the early stages of pre-production).

Yes, I have to say I have pretty high hopes for this one too...I am usualy not this receptive to animated films, whether being stop motion animation or cartoony animations. But I think Chicken run is going to give us a really good yet twisted adaptation of the whole Hogan's Hero-ish idea.
I think this is going to be a good year for these kinds of films. However, I'd just like to say I will not be endorsing the Pokemon film no matter how good or bad the review it might get....I think Pokemon is dumb and is an exploitation of budding peer pressure and capitalizism. It's gone as far and as bad as the beanie baby craze, which is another thing I don't understand. In 10 years these things will be worthless.
