View Full Version : Tom Hanks or Rusell Crowe???
Ok, schmoes.....
Right now, Tom Hanks and Rusell Crowe are by far the favorites for the Best Actor Oscar.
If only this two actors will be on the contest......
Who should win the Oscar? and
Who will win the Oscar?

Tom Hanks deserved it far more than Russel Crowe. Tom Hanks kept you enganged in a movie for 1 1/2 hour all by himself. He lost 50 llbs and grew his damn hair out. Lots of actors could have played Maximus. Crowe probably should have won for Insider but he didn't so that was last year.
Who man it's a tough decision because i realy like them both, but i'll have to go for Tom Hanks. He plays great and made a special happening of Cast Away.Crowe is an good actor but he can''t win the contest from a man like Hanks.

I didn't think Tom Hanks was all that great in "Cast Away".
even though he was quite good on the island scenes, he really fell flat in the 2nd half of the movie. & then when it got too sentimental in the last act, his attempts at
emoting were very unconvincing.

Fuck both of them!
I mean i take my hat off to Mr. Hanks and his contribution to Forrect Gump and Philadelphia but dude two is enough calm the fuck down.
As for RUssel i personally dont like the guy. Maybe coz he took MEggy Ryan from Dennis Quade (who i have respect for). Also he looked like a dick in the Oscars.
Ed Harris should of won for Best Actor definately!
And Joaqin Phoenix should of got the Oscar for best sup. actor rather Russel getting the Best Actor.

Tom and Russell were both fine in their respective roles, but neither of them gave a performance anywhere near the caliber of Ed Harris in Pollack or Javier Bardem in Before Night Falls. THese films were simply too out of the Hollywood mainstream for most people to get a glimpse of them.
But between Crowe and Hanks, I'd have voted for Crowe.
