Has anyone seen this movie? It is one of my favorite alien abduction movies. It stars Christopher Walken as the man struggling with the possibility of abduction. It effects his whole life around him. The director insists that the events are true. I recommend it if you haven't seen it.

Yep I've seen it its based on a famous book by Whitley Strieber (correct me on the name if Im wrong).
It creeped me out when I was younger but I saw it a year ago and thought the aliens (specially in the end)were way cheesy.
Its suppose to be based on a true story.

I saw this movie right when it hit video. I'd read the book, and thought the movie did a pretty good job of laying out the events in a linear fashion (the book is really all over the place). Walken, as always, does a good job as the alien-plagued abductee who - aliens or no - finds himself losing grip on reality. I have to say, though, that this flick contains one of the most funniest moments of unintentional hilarity I've ever seen: When Walken get "probed" for the first time, the look on his face when he says, "Oh, you bastards!" friggin' cracks me up.
When I read "Communion," I still believed in UFOs. It was probably the scariest book I'd ever read. Now I'm strongly skeptical of the notion that an alien intellegence is abducting people, and Strieber's credibility (after he hooked up with Art Bell) has gone completely down the tubes for me. Would this book remain scary if read as a piece of fiction? I think so. The movie? I'd have to pick it up and reassess it.

I caught part of it on TV several years ago. I might go out and rent it, since Chris Walken is in it... /ubb/wink.gif

i generally don't like alien abduction films but this one really had me hooked, the story sucked me in and i really got into the characters and what was happening to them. another excellent performance from Walken who really carries the film and makes his character very believable. the rest of the acting is also very good, even the kid. the direction was mostly very good although the effects were a bit iffy at times.
overall a damn good and very entertaining film
9/10

I adore the book and read it once a year now. I like the movie and think Walken is brilliant in it (even moreso than usual), but the aliens wer ekind of cheesy and the end was pretty embarassing. But it was still one of the more well-made alien abduction films.

I vaguely remember seeing it and I do recall that it scared the crap out of me as a kid.
I had an innate fear of alien abductions back then and the "through the window" scene and IIRC the little black/brown things in his kitchen gave me the heebie-jeebies.
