Does anyone know anything about the MUmmy II? I know the Rock is a pharoh or something, but that's pretty much all I know. I loved the first one which I don't think got really good reviews, but I love ancient Egypt. The Rock is so cool. What 13 year old boy doesn't think that?

I have heard that it will take place several years later with Rick and Evelyn now married and living in London. I have heard that Arnold Vosloo will be back as well as John Hannah.

I think what Quentin meant to say was...
"I don't think that. ---- I HATE that fake wrestling shit."

Almost all films are fake. All action films are. The mummy was a action thriller. The FX were great.

I think a lot of people were disappointed by Mummy because they expected it to be a suspensful horror flick. It's more enjoyable if you just watch it as a tongue-in-cheek action movie.
I don't think suspense was really what the director was going for anyway. I mean, they show you the monster in the first 15 minutes. That's a horror genre no-no.

Hey, the Rock plays the main villain this time around....some kind of Egyptian god or somethin' like that. Beyond that, I know nothing.

There's accually gonna be two more MUMMY movies. The third one is accually a prequel, where the rock is "the scorpion king" i think. The second one will b eout in May and is called the return of the mummy.

I actually liked The Mummy. It was sort of guilty fun. Lot's of action, silly humour, exotic locales and cute actors... Good entertainment for rainy sunday afternoons. I definitely agree with csmoose's comment.

I liked it too. While I won't be ashamed to say that I didn't think of it as a guilty pleasure. Guilty pleasures are films that are bad by standards but you found a little place in your heart for them. The Mummy was well made for what it was, and it was a cheap, fast fun ride with exceptional special effects.

Here's some confirmation on what Silent Bob was mentioning:
"It looks like WWF wrestler The Rock (aka Dwayne Johnson) wasn't just blowing smoke when he spoke previously about a potential Mummy prequel wherein he will reprise the role of the Scorpion King from the upcoming The Mummy Returns. According to Variety, there is to be a third "The Mummy" movie called "The Scorpion King", with WWF wrestler The Rock reprising the role of the villain he is playing in "The Mummy Returns" in a prequel, to be written by Jonathan Hales (currently working with George Lucas on the script of "Star Wars Episode Two"

The Mummy 2 is more about anuksunamun, than it is Imotemp. Evelynn and Rick are married and Anucksunamun supposedly kidnaps their child- The Rock will play the Scorpion King?(Not that I know what or who the hell that is) They are also talking about the Mummy 3 already. I really liked the first one- But my guess is that with this much talk over sequels already the rest are going to suck!

Quentin: Wrestling is not fake, it is choreographed.
Mr. Meat

That's pretty much the same thing man. It's staged.

Mr. Meat, fake is not the same thing as choreographed. Fake means that it is not real, it is not happening. The guys are really out there, every day, busting their asses. When they fall down, they are really falling down. Tell me it wouldn't hurt like hell if you fell 20 feet off a cage onto a table. It is choreographed, which means that the matches have been planned out ahead of time. Wrestlers have broken bones, seriously injured themselves, even died(Owen Hart, R.I.P). Mick Foley has suffered more injuries than most other football, hockey, or any other sports player. When you say wrestling is fake, you are wrong.

Ok well I'm gonna kind of brake the rules here and comment back on this, since we are supposed to be talking about Mummy 2.
I said it is staged, if you recall. And it is pretty much the same. True, they get hurt, sometimes (very rare) they die. But, of course as you know that wasn't part of the plan. It was accidental. The staging and choregraphy had some errors and/or the "wrestler" messed up. Even when they fall down on the wrestling mats thats staged. There trained at staging a fight. You know there are certain parts on the ring that there supposed to land on a certain way. It is staged. They are trained at it, but it is still staged, therefore, fake. But I don't like wrestling because it is fake to a certain extent, I just lost interest in it through time. I'm not badmouthing wrestling.

I agree with you that we shouldn't be talking about this, but I am very passionate about wrestling. Injuries happen in almost every match, some minor, some major. Wrestlers have wrestled with ruptured disks in their backs(Shawn Michaels), some have lost ears and kept going(Mick Foley), some have broken hips and still gone on(Bret Hart). Wrestling is choreographed and staged, but the mat, while not concrete or or something hard like that, is very hard. Imagine when you were younger and would wrestle on carpet(if you had any siblings that were close to your age, if not than just imagine falling on carpet), It hurt when you fell didn't it? It's the same way in wrestling. When you are constantly hitting the mat, sometimes the concrete on the outside, over ten minutes, it hurts like a son of a bitch. I know from experience, it is no cakewalk. I know what you think you know, but if you were to ever get in a wrestling ring, it would completely change your perspective.
Just to let you know, this will be my last post on the wrestling subject.
