If your a fan of Kevin Smith's work, at the very end of the credits, their are shoutouts from Kevin Smith. There's always one to each of the cast members. After those shout outs, it says : Look for Jay and Silent Bob in: what ever movie kevin smith has next. In Mallrats, it said look for jay and silent bob in chasing amy. Well, anyway, In Dogma, it said look for Jay and Silent Bob in clerks2. I hope they do make that movie, and i hope it's in color this time.

That would definitely be sweet. Clerks gave me motivation to write my own movies.

It said something about Clerks2: Still Clerkin, or something like that.

I am ashamed to admit, Silent Bob...I never seen a Kevin Smith film. /ubb/eek.gif After everything I read in this forum I will rent Clerks, Chasing Amy, and Dogma soon.
I have a question: Maybe it was my disturbed imagination, but wasn't Clerks a short-lived animation on CBS? I swore one night I was flipping throgh channels and I came across this cartoon and it had Silent Bob and that one tall guy. Was that Clerks?

Yes Mr. Meat, that was Clerks. But the bastards at ABC had to cancel the show after just two seasons. TWO SEASONS!?! /ubb/mad.gif All they were originally supposed to do was six. But ABC, because Disney is sticking it into their rears, had to cancel a cartoon that was about stupid pot smoking hippies dancing around singing showtunes.

I guess I am partly guilty...i only saw 1 show...but when I found out there was even a cartoon and not a figment of my imagination, it got canned.

Sorry to let you all down, but I think Kevin Smith isn't going to make a Clerks 2. I don't know why he stuck that little advertisement in. I suppose he changed his mind. He is however going to make one more movie in the tradition of Clerks and Mallrats that will wrap up his "New Jersey Trilogy."

Actually, Keyser, you can't call his movies a New Jersey Trilogy because he has already had four plus this next one. Keven Smith calls it the View Askewniverse.

Well, that's what I thought too, but then I saw somewhere that although all four are in the ViewAskew world, the trilogy is the first two and whatever he does next. If you think about it, that is the only way it could work, because both Jason Lee and Ben Affleck played three different roles in Dogma, Chasing Amy, and Mallrats. They went from enemies in Mallrats to friends in Chasing Amy.

It doesn't matter who the actual actors are. Thats the beauty of the View Askewniverse. Take the character Willam, for example. He was in two different movies and was the same character but a different actor played him. Also, Joey Lauren Adams plays Gwen in Mallrats and Alyssa in Chasing Amy. In Chasing Amy she admits to having sex with Gwen meaning that she basically had sex with yourself. Also, Brian O'Halloran played Dante Hicks in Clerks and Gill Hicks in Mallrats. Same actor, slightly different character. Thats the beauty of Kevin Smith's films. If you can fully understand it then u can fully enjoy it. I guess its just a bit over your head.

That's not the only way it could work, because Affleck and Lee played different people in each of the movies. And all the movies tie in with each other. Affleck and Lee will probably be in the next film as different people from previous roles.

If it is a new Clerks, do you think they would make it in color, or black and white?

Well whatever format they make it in, I know it'll definitely be good. There are way too many experiences from working in a store that you could make a good movie from.
There was a Clerks comic book released a while back from Oni Press and the two issues I have read are as hilarious as the movie. It looks very promising.

urgh stupid hollywood. I actually really enjoyed the clerks cartoons, they had some crazy plots, but the dialouge and show overall was brilliant and hilarious imo.
