I just saw the trailers for both of these films today and they both look pretty darn good.

Cast Away stars Tom Hanks as an apparent FedEx Head and Helen Hunt as his wife or love interest. On a plane to deliver an overnight package it crashes and it looks like he's the sole survivor. The end of the trailer is Hanks marooned on an island calling out if anyone is there.....looks really good.

The next one, The Contender, stars Jeff Bridges as the President of the good old U.S. of A. and the woman who he appoints as Vice president after the original vice is assassinated. It is found out that the new one he appointed apparently had some type of scandalous orgy or drunken stuper type of sex scandal thing goin' on and the bulk of the movie is about trying to find out the truth about what she did, and congress & certain citizens trying to get her out of office because of it.

Any1 have any other info on these 2 films? They sound pretty good to me, what about you????

The contender sounds really cool. Really interesting, original story and a perfect cast. I believe it will be one of the biggest critical successes of the year. Hopefully box office will be good as well.

Of course I don't know if the film is any good, but I do know that the film company behind it (dreamworks!) is very confident with it.

Has anyone noticed how dreamworks constantly comes up with pretty good films? They don't produce lots of crap like all other studios. Could it have something to do with love for movies? The main people behind Dreamworks (Spielber etc.) are great movie lovers in my mind... They are not just interested in box office numbers.
