Recently we saw a lot of movies based on video games, like TOMB RAIDER or the upcoming RESIDENT EVIL. Do you think producers should stop producing these movies, or should they continue? Which video game could be best adapted to the big screen?
I think even though we saw pretty foul crap in these kinda movies we gonna see a lot more in the years to come.
I think they should make a HALF-LIFE movie, it would be a good science fiction thriller. They could have Nic Cage or Hugh Jackman play the hero, and I'd pretty well see James Cameron or Renny Harlin directing it.

MOST OF THESE MOVIES TEND TO BE SHAMELESS FLUFF. THE FACT THAT THEY'RE SHAMELESS MAKES THEM WORTH SEEING BUT I CANNOT THINK OF ONE THAT STRUCK ME AS WORTH A SECOND LOOK. MAYBE 'FINAL FANTASY' WILL CHANGE THAT.
i recently saw tomb raider and it wasn't so bad.So why not?
But at the other hand there are movies such as mario brothers, double dragon en streetfighter that were so stupid.

Final Fantasy looks great, but theres a problem...
WTF is the link between the movie and the games? i dont see any. I think they put the FF title just to make sure the movie is a sucess. If the movie were only called "the spirit within", i doubt it would change anything.
Or maybe theres a link. In the website, they are talking about the girl who will accomplish her Final Fantasy, or something like that. So, wtf is a Final Fantasy?
now, to return to the topic:
I think Hollywood picks the wrong games to make movies. Games that are succesful dont necessarily make good movies.
I agree with James Logan, HALF-LIFE would make a pretty awesome movie, if done correctly. And so would StarCraft. As I always say to my friends : "I dont like this game at all, but it could make a hell of a movie!"
(P.S SIREN30, I've read a couple of post of yours and I have to tell you something. READING STUFF LIKE THIS IS VERY ANNOYING. So, to make life easier, just dont write your posts in Caps lock. I have nothing against you, but I had to tell you this. Dont hate me for that, ok?)

I think that MEDAL OF HONOR should become a video game!

Mortal Kombat 3 could be as good as the first one if they bring back the original cast(Or just Christopher Lambert)the original writer and Paul Anderson.

Xmen is the only adaption of a comic/video game (it happens to be on both) that was semi-decent. I thought that it had good balance of special effects and character development. Maybe that is the one ray of sunshine that we can grasp on to till another decent video game adaptation comes along.
PS: (James Logan and popkorn) There is a Half-Life: Counterstrike movie out!!! It is not feature-film length, but it is definitely a sweet view. (It is less than 10 minutes...just like the actual game.) Anyone interested, check it out here:
(you need a broadband connection to view it...its streaming video =( )

Video games could be an excellent source of inspiration, but as usual, the studios go about it all wrong. They think to themselves "Video games are for kids, so we'll market our movie to kids too. Lets dumb down the plot a bit, since kids are too dumb to appreciate a good plot anyway. Toss in some transparent dialouge and a chick with big tits and we'll make us some millions". VG movies need to be made to address the same level of maturity as VG's themselves. Resident Evil is not a kiddie game, so the flick (which I hear has been rewritten to the point of nasuea) should not be kiddie either.
If you know, every Final Fantasy game is basically different then the other, except they all have the name Sid, Biggs and Wedge. Plus half of them took place in Medieval worlds while some took place in Futuristic places.

OK POFCORN, THE CAPS ARE COMING OFF!
See, my problem is that i work at a collection agy and we have to type in all caps. If I'd known that kind of thing was so frowned upon, I wouldnt have done it at all but it was just easier since i have to keep flipping back and forth to my collection screen. I will stop now unless i just want to get my POINT ACROSS and then there will be CAPS!
By the way I friggin love X-MEN...it was totally better than ok but i'm not a comic book reader so i think i'll bail on this subject now.

Did anyone read Joey Baloney's news about Crazy Taxi? The game is decent, but what the fuck will the movie be about? It's getting kinda retarded at this point!
