I know it's been out a while in the US, but it only just came out in the UK recently, and I went to see it and I wondered what other people thought of it. (May include spoilers /ubb/smile.gif)
I thought when watching the beginning that it'd have to have a damn good beginning to 'beat' Jurassic Park's original one with the guy getting pulled into the cage. But, no... quite a poor start only used to introduce the storyline.
The end -no great finalé (again compared with JP)... and where Jurassic Park 2 had at least an extra bit tagged on once they reached the mainland, JP3 ended.
And fnially - the storyline. I'd say this was the worst aspect possibly. They stretched things with the raptors speech thing (although I don't know if this is based on real discoveries) but the whole aspect of going to find a boy who'd managed to survive there for 8 weeks despite the 'esperts' with weaponry beign torn apart within minutes of arriving on the island was sad to watch.
I thought JP2 had disappointed after the great Jurassic Park 1, but JP3 was OK as an action film but very much disappointed me.
Where JP had literally brought dinosaurs to the silver screen, I feel that since computer graphics are used everywhere now, they have become a commodity in that, instead of zombies, serial killers, aliens (Aliens :P) or animals (Jaws, Congo, etc) JP is just another 'horror'/action/survival movie which uses dinosaurs and doesn't work as well, since it seems that JP was one of, if not the first to bring 'realistic' dinosaurs to the table... maybe I expected too much - in fact it's a lot better than most films of it's ilk, but seeing as it's grandfather was so ground-breaking, I expected something equally as ground-breaking, especially in light of the lukewarm reception of JP2.
