Lord of the Rings

Hey folks I am looking for info on the Lord of the Rings Films. I haven't heard when the release date is set for the first one? anyone know?

Christmas 2001. I'm really anticipating for this film. Everything I have heard about it sounds really cool. Part two will come out on christmas 2002 and part three in christmas 2003.

Peter Jackson was interveiwed on a local
Tv program down here on Tuesday. One
of the interesting things he said was
that the films stay very true to the
books. Hence, there will be no romance
or any thing included simply for marketing
or commercialisation. He also said that when
he first read the books as a kid..he actually
thought to himself "geez I can't wait til
they make it into a movie"

Yes I have seen the trailer and I can't wait to see what they come up with. I just wish I didn't have a year to wait.
Actually when I was at the theatre for Phantom Menace I saw the same preview they are showing on the site. My friends and I were couldn't help but get a big grin checking it out.
