I'm so, so, SO fucking sick of the entertainment industry. We need a revolution for everything: books, films, music, art, etc. It's quite ridiculous how commercialized the entertainment industry has become. Don't settle for shitty quality movies like almost everything that's come out this year, aim much higher. I would actually think that it would be better for Hollywood to cut down on the movie producing, and focus on a few select movies per year. They should then work their asses off on these movies and throw them out to blow us completely out of the water. In the meantime, to fill our minds with something more than the latest movie "franchise" (or exploitation, your call) they should hand out money for film makers who just want to make films and not some commercial cow of a movie, with this money they can finally do the thing they love: make films!

Making films and everything else is easily compared to a dead cow. The cow is dead on it's back, with it's udders in the air, oozing curdled milk while the flies and maggots wallow in it. THAT is the entertainment industry, flies and maggots oozing in curdled milk. The tide is moving in your direction...move against it. For the love of humanity, move against the fucking tide! Don't let the undertow carry you out to be with the fashion frogs on their million dollar lilipads!

You are so fucking right! That is so right on. At first I was questioning the strike that was supposed to happen. now I want it to. That means that....oh wait. If that happens, they'll just create other bigass action jerry bruckheimer dumbfuck movies so they will get money. this really sucks.

Just pray that the digital film revolution pulls us out of this slump. We are lucky to be living in a time when you can produce movies for a fraction the cost of even 5 years ago. The Blair Witch Project was a big step in the right direction - regardless of how good or bad it was.

You know what commercialized means? It's how they make money. And without money, there are no films. No films=nothing to watch. Commercialization has been around forever. It's actually a good thing. It gets films their publicity, and gets buzz going.

You seem to be ranting against the "dumb" films that have been popping up very frequently in the past few years. I don't like them either, but there is an audience for those kinds of movies. And you wanting Hollywood to stop making those movies would be like a fan of the "dumb" movies saying that Hollywood should stop making the movies that you like.

Yeah, commercial films are fine. What I was saying, is that hollywood can afford to be braver AND STILL make money.

People are not as stupid as the studios seem to think, they will respond to strong well conceived stories.
