My all time favorite epic would have to be "The Seven Samurai" followed in a close second with "The Bridge On The River Kwai"...

"Bridge Over the River Kwai" and "Braveheart" are both quality films but I think I would have to say "The Last of the Mohicans" is my number one pick

I really like this type pf movies, when they are well made."Braveheart" of course is maybe the best, but I must admit that I liked "Gladiator" very much when saw it for the first time.But then I bought it and the more I watch it, the more mistakes find in the movie.

let me rephrase that:
1. braveheart

Lawrence of Arabia ****
The Bridge on the River Kwai ****
Last of the Mohicans ***1/2 (I recently watched it and noticed how cheesy some of it gets. still good though)
Seven Samurai ****
2001 is an epic? I considered it something else I think. But still, ****

And to top all this shit off, Gladiator is NOT and epic. It's what I like to call a "wannabe epic". Or a "not so great action movie". Or a "only good scenes are the fight ones because the dialogue sucks ass movie".

BRAVEHEART all the way. My runner ups are: JFK, GLADIATOR and THE GODFATHER. Haven't seen a lot of epics in my life, though.
