Well, it's about 8 hours to first showings of 13 Days. Since I live in Finland I can't see the film and I can't see the new Lord Of The Rings trailer either. Please write your opinions in here once you have seen the trailer!

That's not what I heard. I heard that it's actually more of a "teaser" and that it isn't all that exciting. Even Harry Knowles, the world's BIGGEST LOTR pusher, didn't seem too overjoyed with it (at least, not as much as he usually is about stuff like that).

General opinion seems to be that the footage that the teaser shows is very good, but it's simply not showing enough. But afterall it's just a teaser and it's function is to tease...

It seemed to me that Knowles was slightly disappointed because he has already seen quite a lot of the actual footage from the film and thought that there was potential to make a GREAT teaser instead of a good one.

Well, I will see it on internet next friday and I won't expect too much. It seems that we have to wait for another 6 months to see a real trailer...

I just saw an extremely crappy quality pirate video of the teaser and it looked really cool. I think it does exactly what it supposed to do. I gives you the idea of the epicness of the film, but doesn't really show any of the "money-shots". Mainly closeups of actors and a couple of impressive wide shots. Not much SFX and nothing to really get excited about... But the FEEL is there and cinematography looks awesome. Can't wait for next friday, when they release it in the official site.

I saw it, and I wasn't overly impressed. Not
very much material to stir up interest for someone who might be unfamiliar with the LOTR universe.

It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't good. Average at best. Nothing about it caught my eye and said....you *must* see this film.

I think that the teaser was definitely above the average, but I agree that it's not going to get the general public too excited about the film. There simply wasn't enough big SFX shots. Either they haven't finished the BIG shots yet or they simply don't want to show their cards yet, which would be a wise decicion. There will be 2-3 trailers before christmas, so they have plenty of time...

BTW, the teaser will be attached to Red Planet which will premiere in Finland next friday... I'm not going to see it. RP seems weak and LOTR teaser is only rather good.

Damn you americans, it shouldn't be too difficult to get your VCR to theatre and shoot the teaser and then put it in the internet... Of course guy called fatman already did it last friday, but the picture quality is extremely crappy. I don't want to wait until next friday...
