i hate the matrix

Speaking for myself, The Matrix is one of my favorite movies. A little mind-fuck mixed with a lot of John Woo adds up to a pretty damn cool movie in my book.

It's NOT the best sci-fi movie ever but it is the best "live action cyber-punk" movie ever, of course it's pretty much the ONLY one also.

Anyway Jewboy, did you hear the hype before you saw the movie. Cuzz when I went in to see it I had no idea how good it was gonna be so I was surprised but if there was alot of hype for you then maybe it might not have been as good.

But Jewboy if nothing else you have to admit that good or bad the movie was groundbreaking, it did things that have NEVER been done before. And in hollywood these days since the only thing they do is rehash old themes, (not doing a good job of it) and remake old classics (and piss all over them), it's amazing that anything new has been done at all.

My friends and I decided that the matrix is a movie that you can only watch once every 5 years. If one exceeds that, then the movie sucks ass.

The first time I saw "The Matrix" I didn't like it too much. I would have given it a 5/10. I then saw it again on HBO some time ago and it has now jumped up to 8/10. It is certainly one of those movies that deserves more than one viewing to be appreciated to its fullest. And it is definitely not one of the greatest movies of all time, but it's still a very good one.

Im gonna have to agree with everyone that disliked this movie. To say that the plot was orignal and smart is not entirely untrue, but it isnt at all the whole truth and nothing but. I too thought the special-effects were cool, but not cool enough to save the movie from bad acting, horrible pacing (which helps to make it incredibley boring at some parts) and cheesy dialouge. Sure, it was an ok Sci-Fi movie, but for movies in general, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was much, much, better. And im spent.

Matrix is a nice movie to look at but when you watch a movie like Dark City you see it is not a very a good movie at all. That it falls under many other movies that use guns and violence as a ploy to attract an audience which it did and succeeded in being a good action film but with all the grandness and large ideas of Dark City, it fails when compared to that.

Really? I loved The Matrix. It's one of those movies that has to sink in to you. after watching it a lot. Plus, it's one of the few good movies Keanu's been in in his career. I sure wouldn't call it my favorite movie, but it's still awesome.

I personally believe it to be a very well made movie. Some parts I found a tad cheesy but other than that, it was very well done. I give this flick 4/5. Also, everyone has their on tastes.
