You know I don't remember my first rated R movie. Everyone I've asked or something remembers their first rated R movie.. I don't. Am I the only one or does anyone else not remember?

I have been seen "R rated" films since i was very, very young. You are not the only one who can't remember his/her first rated R movie.

In our country We never get any Annoying, Stupid commercials in every 5-10 minutes People don't even cut out anything.

What they do is put on the Video cassette and air it on TV /ubb/biggrin.gif NOW that's WHAT I call TV!!!

I saw Nightmare on Elmstreet when I was 5. Didn't scare me a bit. In fact, I find it much more frightening now.

Evil Dead 2.

It freaked me out really badly...
My cousin rented it and I was pretty young...pencils getting stabbed through hands are what comes to mind. (I could hardly remember anything from it..)

This is something I definitely remember.

'Ruthless People'

Pretty good movie overall, probably didn't deserve to be R, and my mom practically forced me to watch it.

My first R-rated in general was either "A Nightmare on Elm Street" or "Friday the 13th" at age 9 or 10; my first R in a theater was "Another 48 Hours" at age 11 (I was with my parents); my first solo R was "Total Recall" at 13

I remember seeing Bram Stoker's Dracula when I was six.... You know, the one with Keanu Reeves that sucked so bad, it went out on video a week later...

My family has been ver, very liberal when it came to the kids (i.e. me and my young brothers) watching R movies. I think my very first though (to my reccolection) might have been Kubrick's "The Shining". I remember how my mom complimented Danny, (the kid in the movie), his idea to hide his snow tracks by going backwards and then hiding. I also remeber Danny squeezing out of the window in the bathroom.

Get this, i'm 10 years old. My dad is this huge republican and we always have to close our eyes and plug our ears or leave the room when anything offensive comes on screen. I'm 10 years old and My dad lets me and my brothers watch 'Pulp Fiction' with he and my mom in the same room. Of course I was 10 so i found it borin... i wanted to watch a muppet movie!

my first "R" rated movie was in 1986 when I was like 6 years old I had a babysitter who made us watch Friday the 13th part 2 and we could either watch it or go to bed in the pitch black well that traumatized me but I love horror movies now

My first one was "Robocop" at age four. I know that from my parents. The second was ALIENS at the same age.

Like Pseudo, the first R-rated movie I saw was Evil dead 2 when I was 8 at a friend's Halloween Party. Unlike the rest of my friends, who thought they were really cool, I thought it was boring as hell and stupid. I also saw The Fugitive and Rain Man when I was 8 or 9, and loved them both.

My mom is VERY conservative when it comes to renting movies or seeing them at the theaters; my dad is somewhat less staunch, but he's scared to rent anything controversial when my mom's around. So we always rent good stuff when my mom and my 12-year old little sister aren't around, and then don't tell them about it.

Does anyone know what the first R rated movie actually was?

Benny

The ratings system was first developed in 1968. So it was probably a film from that year.

Lindsey!!! Another thing we have in common. I've been watching "The Blues Brothers" since I was 5 years old. It's my dads favorite movie so I grew up on it. It's a classic!!!!

By the way, about 4 years after my first viewing of Blues Brothers, I watched my 2nd ever "R" movie and it was another classic: Caddyshack. I love both movies and own both of them.

I can't really remember...I'm pretty sure it was one of these 4 though:

1.A Nightmare On Elm Street
2.Predator
3.The Serpent And The Rainbow
4.Robocop

And in answer to your question Jarhead,The MPAA was created immediately after the release of Night Of The Living Dead,so I guess that was the first R-rated film IMO.

My Bloody Valentine. My sis, at high school at the time, made me watch it with her cuz she was too scared to watch it alone. Twisted me out of my pre-pubescent gourd, and made me a horror fan for life.

A movie about female wrestlers (!) called All the Marbles.

The first R movie I saw in the theater was The Breakfast Club.
