Am i the only one excited about this movie?!i have read all 4 books (and the sample chapter of book 5) and i really cant wait for this movie to come out!!! any thoughts about it?

Admittedly, I haven't read any of the books and don't know much about 'em, other than the fact that they're about a kid who digs on wizardry, but I am still interested in seeing the movie. The initial teaser trailer didn't do much for me, but I haven't given up yet.

I just hope that it's not the kind of thing for which you NEED to have read the books to "get". I hate when that happens... /ubb/smile.gif

Hey JoBlo i think that if you have read the books it may help, but it also might ruin it- cos there is a huuuuuge twist at the end of the 1st book, which, if you already know about would probably mess the movie up a bit.
and everyone i have met who has read the books absolutely loves them- which is always a good sign /ubb/smile.gif

MrWhite what is your problem?! i heard ya the 1st time, and to be quite honest i dont really care about your erection problems!!!

I know a few 25+ years old people who really like the books. Personally I know only the basic premise of the books/film but it sounds interesting. I liked the teaser quite a lot except for that pitiful "three kids screaming at the camera" scene. Otherwise it seemed like an interesting film with cool cinematography and nice "feel" to it. My only fear is that director Chris Columbus will make it too cute and light, destroying all the potentially dark and scary undertones with his fluffy approach.
