Does anyone know the cast and the plot for The Lord Of The Rings?

Is the plot the same from the novel trilogy?

It's the same plot, but naturally some subplots and characters have been removed. The three films will run around 7-9 hours, so they weren't able to include everyhing from the books.

New Zealand's own computer effects people - WETA are in charge of the effects.
