Akira Re-Release

Is anyone else excited to see the AKIRA re-release with all the restoration and stuff? Lord knows I am. I can't wait to get my grubby mitts on the DVD and crank up the volume as loud as it will go. What a freakin movie!

I don't know about the other schmoes, Joey, but I'm excited about it. I love this movie, but I'm afraid that they're not going to release it in complete wide release. I'm afraid that they're going to release it only in major cities...like they do almost all feature film anime.

I hear ya, dude. Check out the news tomorrow (Friday) and I kinda elaborate on the whole thing. Basically, Pioneer has said it won't even get out of New York unless it does well. That's not much of a release at all. On the other hand, if it kills in New York, than expect to see it grow and grow and grow. If it's any indication, shows in NYC are already selling out....

Thanks Drew. I'm glad that at least my terror could make a few people happy. I just feel bad I couldn't have a review of the movie up for these folks. But maybe (maybe...) we might have something else from AKIRA for these fine folks. We'll have to wait and see......
