Do you think Blockbuster Video should stock more Widescreen DVDs or Full Screen DVDs.

Being a motion picture purist, I believe that Blockbuster Video should stock more Widescreen DVDs than Full Screen DVDs because when a film has an aspect ratio of 2.35:1, you are really missing a lot of the picture when in full frame.

I think they should stock more DVDs period. I use both Blockbuster and Hollywood Video and do you see how many videos they still get? I remember they filled up an entire shelf with Miss Congeniality tapes. My local Hollywood Video has no more room they get so many videos. They have the entire middle of the store devoted to previously viewed videos and some DVDs trying to sell to get rid of them, it's fuckin pathetic!

I agree, Widescreen is SO much better. When watching movies on DVD I can tell that the image is warped because the 'film was formatted to fit my screen.'

I agree with Flickjunkie, it's not up to Blobkbuster whether a DVD is released as wide or full-screen.

I work at Blockbuster, and from what I gather more people complain about widescreen then prefer it. At least to me. "Is this fullscreen or widescreen? Awww, I hate widescreen." So I think the head Blockbuster people are going by that. I think the majority of people aren't "movie purists" as tayag put it who don't know or don't care why widescreen even exists. Like me for example it used to bug me watching something in widescreen, but as I got more DVDs and such I got used to it.
Just so you know I also think Blockbuster is evil, I'm not sticking up for them because I work there, and I got a Jeepers Creepers poster from there, I just wanted to get my take on the topic in.

You know what I could care less about fullscreen or widescreen, IF the movie has the same ending it doesn't matter if I see it on my computer,on a vcr or a dvd. But I do prefere widescreen cuz you see more then fullscreen. But I don't really care. If I can watch the movie, I'll watch it. these tiny details aren't important.

This widescreen/fullscreeen debate is so silly and boring!! Fullscreen just flat out sucks! Widescreen is the best for so many reasons. Stop fighting it, fullframe is never going to be better than WS it just is not ever going to be better!!!!!

I agree that they should stock widescreen. However, Blockbuster is a money business, and if stocking full frame (or Pan and Scam) versions of films because the majority of consumers want that, then they should stock the full framed versions. Remember, the customer is always right.
