Tuukka -An update, this year I did go to a "normal" school, Governor French Academy a private school here in Illinois. But still with my sleep habits and weekends I managed to squeeze in atleast 25 movies a week, and now with summer, well...

I did get a camera, a damn good one too. And the headmaster of my school is giving up $15000 to TheNuke and I (we go to the same school) to shoot a 30 minute film for him. We're going to have our own crew, we'll have use of an AVID editing machine at the University of Illinois college thanks to Mr. Barton. We're working out all the details now, shooting will begin in August. My first film with a budget or crew, wish me luck...I've already made a few shorts (hopefully one of them will be my "Bedhead" if you follow) but this will be my first foray into a real (short) movie making. Wow. With that kind of money you can shoot a full lenght film if you want. I mean tomorrow I will start shooting my first full lenght film and the budget is only around 5000$ (I finance it by myself). It's a 90 minute film and I have about 20 people attached to the project. We are shooting on DV so that's why it's pretty cheap.

Anyway, good luck to you. You are only 14 (or 15?) so you have a good chance to make your first full lenght film before you are even 18...

Anyway, my point was that you should make movies instead of just watching them, and that's apparently what you are doing.

Nowadays I watch only about 3 movies a week. The reason for this is that after seeing around 2500 movies in my lifetime, mediocre movies don't interest me anymore. I don't learn anything from them. And 99% of movies are more or less mediocre. I only check the really interesting movies.

BTW, are you able to make MPEG files of your movies? If so, you could put them on www.ifilm.com (http://www.ifilm.com) and we all would be able to watch them and give comments.

I think that you can export your short movie from AVID as an mpeg file. If not, you can at least export it as an AVI-file and then convert it to MPEG with another program.

I dont see how it is possible to score that highly on the test. But if you seriously did score that highly, rather than taking it as a negative, why dont you take it as a positive? If you know movies that well, why don't you pursue a career for that? If you love movies that much, what stops you?

Obviously watching movies that much would result in an tradeoff of priorities. You need to analyze what will help you in your future and you need to decide a level of movie-watching that wont impede that goal. For me, in order to do so, I limit myself to 2-3 movies a week (these days). I am sure that for others, it could be more or it could be less.

I just wanted to slip in a few words of advice because I think that it hit you too hard.

Colin, I find it odd that you have the most posts on a very active movie board (15,000), yet don't even score 50% movie nerd.

Well, at the time that I took this test I had only here for three months and I didn't have nearly as many posts then as I do now, nor did I know as much about movies then as I do now. I just took the text again and it said I was 70.5% movie corrupt (29.5% pure), so I guess I've learned a bit more since then.

But just because I've got the most posts doesn't mean I claim, or have ever claimed, to know the most about movies here. I mean, QUENTIN isn't even in the Top 25 posters and I doubt anyone here knows more about movies than he does.
