Sure, we got a few more days until the month is officially over, but all of the major releases are out, and what did you think?

I think the critics were slightly pleased. The Counte of Monte Cristo is recieveing good reviews, as is The Mothman Prophecies. The Brotherhood of the Wolf was considered very entertaining by most critics. Black Hawk Dawn was released wide, and to some great response. Although some critics dished it for it's lack of character developement, and although the film was boycotted by Somali-Americans, it's doing great at the box office. I Am Sam got it's wide release, to some pretty bad response. Gosford Park, and The Royal Tenenbaums were released wide this month, both getting mostly great reviews, and both considered two of the bests of 2001. Another critical favorite, and award winner A Beautiful Mind was released everywhere, and got great response everywhere. Critics love it, move-goers liked it, and the awards shows are loving it. Orange County got some surprisingly good reviews, but most were mixed. Imposter was a dud in both the box office, and critical response. Mandy Moore's A Walk to Remember was another critical dud, getting many horrible reviews. The 12 people who have seen Kung Pow don't seem to like it much. Snow Dogs was also released this month, and hated by the critics.

I only saw 2 January releases, because this month I caught up on the many 2001 releases I missed. I saw Black Hawk Down, which is techinically a 2001 film, and loved it. 9/10. I also just saw The Brotherhood of the Wold, which was very entertaining. 8/10. I'm looking forward to seeing The Mothman Prophecies, and The Count of Monte Cristo this weekend. What did you guys think of this month?

The only movie I've seen in January was A Beautiful Mind which was released in 2001 in limited release but went wide on Jan. 4 (and I saw on the 5th). I'd rate it a 10/10... seriously. It was that incredible.

Tomorrow I'm actually seeing Orange County because some friends want to, and it's the only film technically released in 2002 that interests me... No film only released in 2002 really interests me, so far that is.
