question about gosford PArk

my dad and i were talking today about gosford park and we had forgotten what the butlers motive was for wanting to kill the host (forgot his name, sorry) Anyone willing to refresh my memory?

If I remember right, the host was the butlers father who had abandoned him at an early age, so he became angry at his father and wanted him dead. Don't quote me on that though cause I am not entirely sure. I think I'm right though!

no, no. the guy who was the host's son was one of the servants, he left at the end. that wasn't the head butler.
