Yes I hear it takes up a lot of space.
About 230-300 megabytes for an hours worth.

Back in the days when i used to get movies all the way from across the atlantic ocean to my computer, so i didn't have wait for the slow buggers to put the movie in the british cinemas, i used to fill up my hard drive with films.
The way it works, basically, the better quality the movie is the bigger the file is gonna be. Also the longer the movie is it will of course result in the fact that the file will be bigger.
I remember getting Toy Story 2 ages ago and putting it on my computer, it was stored on two different files and it took up about 900mb, close to a gig of my hard drive, but it was good quality though.
So films can range from 300mb all the way up to (what i've seen is the biggest, which is) 1.3gig, thus depending on length of film and quality of the file.

i download movies from kazaa sometimes. usually the files are .avi format and 600-700 mb.
I try dowloading some movies from Kazaa but most of the files are .avi format and for some reason it will not play on my computer.
Any suggestions??

If the file won't play on your computer, make sure that you have the latest version of Windows Media Player and go to www.divx.com (http://www.divx.com) and download the DIVX Codec. With those two things, the movies should play on your computer. That's what I had to do on my computer.

Why was my post deleted? I posted saying that you can download movies from the programme MORPHEUS, but it seems to have been deleted. What's up with that?

I have about 10 films on my hard drive and combined they take up 6.20 GB. I have a lot more on cd's too. All with dialup.

Well, movie files are big, but when you have an 80GB harddrive, it isnt a problem. Only problem is my mom is too in love with AOL to give it up for another service, that could download my movies faster. My lasgest file is probably the Centropy version of Lord of the Rings, with only the first part being 720MB. It is as close to DVD quality as you`ll get until the DVD.
