Ok, so why will HBO show The Sopranos letterboxed, but never any movies? And now that I have digital cable I've got like a zillion HBOs: HBO, HBO Plus, HBO Signature, HBO Family, HBO Comedy, HBO Zone, HBO Latino...HBO Latino!!! Why can't they offer HBO Widescreen???

And don't get me started on Showtime and Starz. The Chris Isaak Show is always on, but good luck finding Queer as Folk without a TV Guide. And ain't Black Starz a wee bit racist? And can't they show anything better than Class Act?

One would assume that since I now have thirty-six premium movie channels I'd have an overwhelming selection of quality films. But no, the same movies are shown over and over. How many times could a rational person watch See Spot Run? Why is Dirty Dancing still on pay television? While it's cool to see a post-pubescent Cynthia Nixon in The Manhattan Project, does that movie really need to be seen every other day this month?

I don't know where I'm going with all of this. I just needed to vent, and See Spot Run has made me temporarily retarded. Sorry.

I have Digital cable too, and I get like every movie station but they play the same movies over and over again. Magnolia has been on every night on that 2nd Starz channel. I usually just stay up for the porn and the "Real sex" or "Taxicab Confessions". Great stuff.

What a coincidence, I use my digital cable for porn too Lindsey. That is, when its not screwing up. I've lost count of how many times I've tried to tape something, and it fucks up somewhere. The only thing that came off sorta ok was the Dave Chapelle: Killin Them Softly stand-up special that was on HBO a couple years ago. It went perfect until the last 5 minutes when the screen went black, then it came back on. The only thing that taped perfect, all the way through, was a South Park Xmas Special I taped off of PPV (we had free coupons). The picture was perfect, but the sound was all fucked up so when I watch it I have to turn it way up to hear it. I really dont understand why im paying so much for such shitty service. I think im retarded or something.

Err... I love 'Real Sex.' Some freaky things on there sometimes but it's a fun watch. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

We love our digital cable. Ours has a built in TV guide though so that we can get info on things that are going to be on later etc. It's how I check if Smallville is a rerun or not so we don't miss a new one by accident http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

Interesting point about the widescreen issue for movies. What I would do is write a letter to HBO and be nice and ask them about it. Tell them you'd be interested and see if it's an option. Hmm.. either HBO or your cable company - or hell... both.
