I just read this item in a gossip column. Note gossip column - take it for what it's worth... IS Jennifer Aniston pregnant? The chain-smoking "Friends" star recently gave up cigarettes. "She may be pregnant and doesn't want to damage her unborn child," a pal said. Another friend noted "Brad [Pitt] quit, now her." Further speculation arose when Aniston skipped last month's SAG awards in Los Angeles. The other actress notably missing was Sarah Jessica Parker, who soon announced her pregnancy. A rep for Aniston didn't return calls. NOW... the reason I brought this up wasn't exactly to spread gossip but rather to bring up the smoking aspect of the story...

One of the biggest turn offs to me as a fan is smoking. I ignore it best as I can (I'm a huge Russell Crowe fan for example so I just don't think about it.) But for me I find myself totally let down when I see pictures of stars or read about celebs smoking.

I'm guessing that a lot of you schmoes smoke and believe me I'm not making these comments to belittle smokers in general so please don't take it personally http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

But if this story is true and Brad and Jennifer have quit smoking - Hooray!!! And if she's pregnant make that a double hooray and a congrats.

But again... it's just gossip, just gossip that got me thinking.

Funny you should mention it. I quit on April 1st after ten years of heavy smoking. The first three days were hell, but now I'm fine.

I gotta' say though that celeb's smoking doesn't bother me (I didn't even know Aniston was a smoker) but if she or anyone else quit because they are pregnant, then hooray!

My mum was pregnant fours time and only ever "cut down." I'm still fucked off about that.

Congrats to you then on quitting! My mom smoked until she got pregnant with me and stopped. To this day she's as sensitive to it as I am. My sister smokes and it kills me. I wish she'd quit.

I always wondered if the stars did it because it helps them stay so thin. But who knows?

I'm thinking that smoking is the almost the least dependency problem that a person in Hollywood can have. I mean look at Robert Downey Jr.

I understand everyone's opinion on smoking, but for that to even be an tiny issue for a fav. actor to do it is a bit over doing it.

But then again I'm a almost as big a sports fan as I am a movie fan and almost every other day anymore an athlete has done something far beyond smoking, so anymore it takes a murder or something by a celebrity to shock me.

oh and here's a horrible smoking story. My best friend got married awhile back. A bunch of the people in the wedding happened to smoke clove cigarettes and cloves are a naturally aborting substance for pregnant women. One of the females in the party was pregnant and screamed at everone about smoking cloves around her which was more than understandable. However while doing so she was practically chain smoking her marlboro lights.

I accidently came across a website dedicated to celebrities that smoke. It shouldn't be too hard to find.

I always find it quite surprising to learn that certain actors are smokers -- a lot of them just don't "look the type", although I guess there isn't exactly a "type" for smoking. I imagine a lot of them do it because of the amount of stress they're under, what with acting and with their private lives and candid photos of them being on the front page of every tabloid. I personally find smoking disgusting, but I'm hardly going to stop liking a certain star just because they do it. I mean, it's not as if I'm being forced to breathe in the niccotine is it?

Hey thanks for the kind words, by the way. I hope your sister does quit one day.

Thanks again.
