Ok, shmoes, its time to be honost and let the truth out, i know when i'm with a bunch of friends sometimes i can get crazy in the theatre, most of the time when i do get annoying is before the movie rolls, during like the previews, or the screen shots at the beginning, and the crowd seems to enjoy me antics, such as laughing this hysterical laugh i do, everyone seems to find it funny, it almost sounds like a little girl, or sometimes i'll just yell out phrases like "oh, yeah", or i'll make comments about the trailer and the slides. And once at the mummy returns, a friend of mine brought in a sling shot, and starting firing little pieces of candy at the screen, infact, the people one row ahead of us, actually gave us more ammunition, it was great. So, be honost, what have you done that was annoying?

Me too, and that's the truth. I hate it when people are loud and annoying during movies, so I assume that others are like that too.

Durring the horrible Dragonfly I could not help myself but laughing at the horrible diolauge. Here is one of those:
[not word for word, but close to it!]
Kathy Bates: You need to move on...
Kevin Kostner: I Can't...
Kathy: Well, do something you always wanted
Kevin: I always wanted to go white water rafting... (in a sobby tearish way)
Kathy: Why would you want to do that?
Kevin: TO SEE WHITE WATER!!!! (very serious and mad manor)
and these ladies behind me and my friends told us to shut the hell up! don't ruin the movie for the rest of us! they were sooo pissed... i thought that movie was histarical... and glitter when i kept yelling press fast forward...the people around me and my friends were really annoyed.

When people lash out at the movie theaters, its usually deserved. Most likely, it was in more than one place that you were being disruptive.
People have different taste in movies. Although a majority of us would hate movies like Glitter and Dragonfly, there are some people who do enjoy those movies.
If someone was behind you making noise during a movie that you were enjoying, how would you feel? If you dont like a movie, just walk out....no one is asking you to be there.
Here are a number of threads of what people really think:

I dont know what your problem is, but if you are doing it to be funny, its not... Assholes that consider that funny should not be allowed in public theaters. It is for that reason that people feel compelled to pay more to avoid immature people like you. (See here: http://www.joblo.com/ubb/Forum10/HTML/005114.html)

I read in this month's Empire the case of the woman and her boyfriend who got beat up during LOTR for telling a family to be quiet. This is an old story, but it was talked about in detail, and bloomin' eck - The family not only hurled verbal abuse back at the polite woman, they pulled her over the seat, and punched her in the eye. The mother of the family also whacked the boyfriend in the nose. Now that's disgusting behaviour.
CINEMA RAGE HAS BEGUN as Empire said so well.

Ok, I do remember one time I'm ashamed to admit. But it wasn't my fault!
I went with his guy (whose name I don't even remember) I was briefly friends with to see Millennium, and this guy wouldn't shut up! Since this was ages ago (I was, like, 15) I don't remember what he was saying, but I'm guessing it was pretty annoying. This was the only time an usher reprimanded me. (Oh, and I wasn't friends with this kid too much longer after that).
Oh, and I also remember another "friend" of mine cracking jokes all the way through Ghost. I was thisclose to finding a new seat. Some people just don't know how to watch a movie.

I haven't been the annoying one, but I did go to see A Beautiful Mind with someone annoying. Me and a group of friends went together, and we got in as the previews started rolling. This friend (no names mentioned) made quite a lot of noise as we went in, which made me be a bit ashamed to be with him (no offence to him there, I was thinking to myself 'Please don't look at me, I didn't do anything, it was him!')
Whilst we were watching the movie, as Bender introduced himself, my friend shouted out "Heh I bet you are as well!!". At that point my friends and I just told him to shut up, which he did. We haven't been the cinema with him since, I kinda feel sorry for the guy http://www.joblo.com/ubb/frown.gif

I had potential to be.
The last time I saw Lord of the Rings I bought candy at a little candy store next to the theater. I had a craving for caramel creams and these were mmmm... nice and soft and fresh.
So during the trailers I was opening them and I opened one during a really quiet part. I thought there was a mircrophone on the candy the way the crinkly wrapper was so obnoxiously loud.
So I started digging through the bag and taking all the wrappers off so that the candy was in the bag unwrapped. My husband looked over with a look that at first said, "My god you're scarffing those down!" And then I explained. I didn't want to be the one making so much annoying noise.
Heh.

I was once around people that I went to the theatre with that were making noises. I got annoyed but just let it go since I had to deal with them the rest of the night.

Hell no. I have more creative ways to get attention. -- and those don't involve being disrupting movies that I paid for.
The only times I've ever gotten rowdy have been like at the drive-in, or like when I saw Scream 2 in the hood theater and everyone was going nuts, so I joined in. Otherwise -- I go with the flow and have a good time. It's not up to me to dictate that the movie sucks.
And if I do scream out of turn in a theater -- You bet your ass I get a majority laugh. Why else should I do it? Lemme tell you though -- I hate those bullion cube heads who can't crack a proper joke at the screen, yet the try, and try, but just never get it right. Poor posers.

In all serious, I am probably one of the best people to go to a theater to. I'm completely silent when a movie is on, I very very rarely eat and I don't take bathroom breaks or anything. I always give my full attention to the movie.
I have no patience for annoying people in theaters.

The 3rd time I saw LOTR my friend was being all loud and took my coat and threw it back into the audience. I like shrieked really loud and got up to go get it. A couple minutes later Legolas came on and they just melted and made sex noises and shit. Some big fat nerd guy comes up to us and tells us "shut the fuck up and watched the damn movie!!!" Now even if I was loud that guy made me mad so I became more loud and rude. There were only like 3 other people in the whole theater and they were in the back so they didn't mind anything we were doing. So after like 20 more minutes of our talking he left and we figured he would be telling on us so we went to the bathroom for a few minutes. There are no doors on the bathrooms at my movie theater so we could see him and the manager walk by so we waited until the manager came back and then we went back into the movie... NO ONE WILL EVER GET ME TO SHUT UP AT THE MOVIES!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

I try not to be annoying but when i went to see The Mummy Returns, my mates and i couldn't help but laugh aloud at the poor attempt of dialogue, some of the acting *cough*the rock!*cough* and especially the effects...simply awful.
But i never intentionally be a pain in the arse, it's just the Mummy Returns was so hillariously awful!!!

I have threw sweets at people and started to laugh were you can not stop and everytime i go to the cinema i almost get kicked out, but i don't see what the problem is as long as it isn't during the movie.

Have I ever been the annoying kid in the theatre? Yes, probably. In fact, everyone has (even those of you who so vehemently deny it), based mainly on that fact that few people really know when they're being disruptive, and usually don't do it intentionally.
Besides, some people get irritated by just about anything. Theatre Nazis (as I call them) will obnoxiously "shuuuuuush!" you if you so much as shift in your seat during a quiet part.

Once.
I was with a group of about 16 friends, and we had went to see Ali...there was virtually no one in the theatre besides us so it was ok i guess...we were just throwing gummy bears at the screen etc...
we were attentive at the beginning, but when the movie got boring and the storyline got confusing, we just got annoyed.
though ali turned out to be one of the worst movies i saw in 2001, i have to say that will smith's performance in it was great...
just that the editing in the movie confused the hell out of us who didn't know muhammed ali's full life story... (example, was he dating a second woman while married to teh first one, what about the 3rd woman, was he divorced the the 2nd before dating and marrying the 3rd, or what?...it got more confusing...)
only after reading an online bio after coming home did i understand the movie...

Personaly, i have never been the annoying one, but when i go see a movie with friends (with the exeption of one) they go ape shit and annoy everyone in the theater.
Thats why i always go to movies that i want to see by myself or with my one friend that too enjoys movies, but when i want to see a 'guilty pleasure' flick, or just a fun movie, i hook up my other firends.

I usually take all my clothes off, run to the front of the theater and bust out my acoustic guitar and I sing "American Pie" by Don Maclean during the trailers...would you guys consider that annoying?
I find it rid's my soul of all the demons trying to contamanat me.

Im always pissed when I go to the cinema!!! And so I usually have to rent the movies on video/ dvd. I forgot the whole of The Others!
But yeah, me and my freinds are always annoying. But there's nothing like laughing amazingly loud, while swigging away at the Vodka.
Besides, if you ask me, people who get annoyed with other people are just jealous coz they can't have the same amount of fun.
I only go places to cause trouble; it doesn't feel right if people have the same feelings towards me by the end of the night.

I can admit it. I have.
At Mercury Rising we pissed off the guy in front of us by laughing at scenes that weren't at all intended to be funny. It was just such a terrible movie we couldn't help it. In our defence, the theatre was almost completely empty and the guy who got all pissy had chosen to sit right beside us when 98% of all the other seats were empty. If you're the type who gets a bug up your ass easily, sit somewhere farther away from the only other people in the theatre. Even get up and move.
The only other one that comes to mind was at Les Misérables. The movie was, of course, set in France, but (for some reason unknown to me) the whole movie has dialog in English... (ok, recap: everyone in France speaks English). Well, 2/3rds of the way through the movie, Claire Danes' character says she's leaving for England, and she's begging Hans Matheson's character to come with her. He say's no, an that he can't go, and she (crying) says "why not?" Out of nowhere, I blurted out "Because I don't speak English" (Recall: the movie is set in France but everyone is speaking English). Well, I never intended it to happen, but everyone (who heard me) starts laughing out loud around us. So, you've got this whole section of the theatre laughing at the most serious part of the movie, and I can't help but think it must have been annoying for those trying to actually watch it and/or take it seriously...
...we were throwing M&M's off the upper balcony at The Matrix, but only BEFORE the movie started, so that one doesn't count.
But I've been good for most of the other six billion movies I've been to.
