The new teaser is SO much better than the last one. Awesome cinematography. Great acting. The FEEL is definitely there. Dark, mysterious, realistic, yet eerie. And before somebody starts complaining the lack of big money shots, this is a TEASER for christ's sake. There will be two more TRAILERS this year for both LOTR and Fellowship Of The Ring. LOTR is a true EPIC in every sense of the word. They are not showing you all their cards yet.
Thank you PJ, you made me cry tears of happiness. It was perfect. Just perfect.
(PS. Moderators, please don't delete this topic, even if there is a another LOTR topic. It covers the Cannes festival and will die a quick death. Thank you.)

You will find the link at www.theonering.net. (http://www.theonering.net.) Unfortunately it's in Real Video format.
Here is a link so that you can SAVE the real video file to your computer:

I tried to watch this, but then I realized how much Realplayer SUCKS when trying to view something moving. Little square blocks and echoey sound do not make this an enjoyable thing to watch.
I'll wait for it to appear in better format before watching it.

Just watched that teaser and I gotta say that I looks a lot better than I was waiting for... PJ is the man.

Scorch, save the file to your computer from the link I gave. Just push right mouse button on the link and choose "save target as". That way you don't have to load it over the net while watching it.
OH MY DEAR LITTLE BOY CHILD!!!!!
I haven't seen the trailer as yet, i think so many people are trying to see it that the real player system has crashed or something, but i did catch the stills on theonering.net.
ASTONISHING!!!!
Greatest film ever?
oh.............yes.

I can see this getting bigger than Star Wars.
..just seen it.
Things i would like to note...
1. Cinematography - Far superior to any film i have ever witnessed.
2. The acting - Looks good, not Oscar stuff though.
3. Very atmospheric, with tense scenes. Just what is Frodo looking at in that windy lane? He doesn't know, and neither do we, but we get the faintest idea...the riders.
4. Special effects - Can't say much yet, but from what i have seen, amazing.
5. The feel of the trailer was very grown up, a far cry from the childrens television programme that was The Phantom Menace.
One major concern.....
GANDALF LOOKS A LITTLE MAD!
This concerns me a great deal, he just looks high on drugs, like a street tramp, i hope this isn't the case throughout the whole film, which i very much doubt.
Apart from that...nice and dandy indeed.

Don't worry about it, AK. That scene is probably just after he has escaped from Sauron, so he is a bit confused and scared... Both PJ and Ian have said that the character is very loyal to the books.
Anyway, I think that Ian McKellen RULES as Gandalf. That voiceover is just terrific. I'm glad they didn't use "Mr. Voice". Now it gives the impression that the teaser is TELLING us something instead of SELLING something.
....yes, that "Mr Voice" is always an awful thing in a trailer you want to take seriously.

I guess my favourite moment is when Frodo says "There is something down there" and we see an interior of a cave... "My Precioussssss....". Of course people who haven't read the books have no idea what's happening, but those who KNOW it gives shivers in the spine... It's cool that while giving away the basic premise to mainstream audiences, there are also scened devoted to die-hard fans.
...very true...i very much liked that sequence indeed.
Say, Tuuka, would you like a chat seens how your online right now? In the jobl ochat room?

I would love to, but I'm right now going to gym before it closes (It's 21.04). I have been calling lot's of my friends and I've been frequently commenting on AICN today... I'm just so damn excited.
We could organize a chat soon conserning the subject... On sunday, maybe. I'm sure there are others willing to take part as well.
...i'm sure i saw one of your comments, but would i be right in saying you didn't use your Joblo name?
We should organise a chat, we'd have to work it out for the times of different countries. How far ahead is the time in Finland compared to Britain?

I'm in for a chat on the subject.
Just saw the trailer, and I'm mighty pleased. I, too, loved "my precious....." Andy Serkis has a good voice for Gollum.
I also liked the look of the unmasked Nazgul as Frodo sees them at Weathertop. Looks like the picture from weeks ago was a real one...the two far Nazgul on the left are the same ones from the now-defunct picture.
Cinematography is nice. I really liked the shot of the Fellowship in Moria where the ORcs all surround them and you see the gigantic stone columns. Carumba!

The teaser was great, even though 2 minutes and 30 seconds is a little long for a teaser. It looks as if PJ has done a good job on the amazing books. I can't wait...

Don't want to step on any toes but...
We've got a Quicktime format of the trailer for those who hate RealVideo, at http://movie-list.com
Jo - feel free to link to 'em. /ubb/smile.gif

WOO-HOO!!! Movie-list.com rocks!! Thanks, dude...just added them to our links...as well as a trailer for John Woo's next war movie starring Nic Cage and Christian Slater called WINDTALKERS.....but it's in crappy REAL VIDEO at this point......ugh!
That Quicktime trailer's quality is worse than the Realplayer quality.

The quality of the Real Player was fine once I downloaded it to my hard drive.
I just hope a bigger version comes out. The screen's too small to actually see a lot of what's going on.
Yeah, i cannot wait for a quality Quicktime trailer...the scale of this trailer should not be seen on the likes of Realplayer.
Also, the sound will be better, so i can switch my 3D on when Gollum whispers "My Preciousssssss".
Superb.
I'd also like to note that, whilst some people aren't going to read the books in fear of spoiling the film, i suggest they do. I have read the books once, and am going to read them again this summer, and having read certain scenes it is very eery and generally extremely fun in seeing these scenes on the screen in such epic form.
It makes you understand the whole aura of the films more after reading the books, and that Gollum scene was indeed spine chilling due to the fact that i have read the books.
I can't believe how much Peter Jackson has achieved in terms of the epic scope and the way he has taken what i imagined almost everything to look like, but put it on screen in the most epic way possible and still fit what i thought everything might look like.
There is no doubting that Jackson is now a film making force to be reckoned with. I'm still slightly concerned with one or two things, being Elijah Wood (The way he said his line in that trailer "Do they Gandalf" seemed a little badly acted out for me.) and the very small percentage of shots that aren't as good as i expected.
One being the council of Elrond, and those cheesy looking romance scenes between Arwen and Aragorn.
Jackson's got a whole seven months in which to fine tune the film, but i still need a little convincing that these are going to be the greatest films of all time.
Mind you, i haven't seen the Cannes 25 minutes footage, so, go figure....

And Sauron looked like a nasty mofo in the trailer, too.
I can't wait to see those miniature helms that they're going to seel. Some of those things looked really cool.
Also, does anyone know where the music in the trailer came from?
I thought it was Howard Shore's original score?

The trailer rules. Everything about this movie is amazing.
Except that saying "It's power corrupts all who desire it" and then showing Boromir was a little too obvious.

If that's Howard Shore's original score, then I'm pleased. I liked it.
Anyone seen some new pics? They are available at www.theonering.net (http://www.theonering.net) and are really atmospheric. There is also this image of Hobbiton as preperations are under way for Bilbo's 111th birthday....

It's quite a beautiful image, which shows a harsh contrast of the almost perfect life of the Hobbits to the journey that Frodo must take.
Also, you can see Gandalf and Frodo sitting on the hill.

oooh Scorchlord, the music at the beginning of the trailer is an extract from The Power of One soundtrack, from a track called Mother Africa (reprise) by Hans Zimmer.

The trailer looks awesome. I've completed the booktrilogy just a couple of months ago and I must say that Peter Jackson has done a great job. It looks almost as I imagined it would be. The only thing tha't looked different from what I expected were the Orks (am I correct?!) in the trailer. As far as I know their appearance should be a lot different than the trailer shows. But than again, they look pretty ugly and scary.
I'm quite glad to find that the sequence in the trailer where Gandalf looks mad may actually, it has been suggested, be a dream/nightmare that Frodo has about the ring.
