Am I the only one who doesn't give a rat's ass about ''X-men''???

I know it made a lot of money, but I just don't see what's so cool about them!!! When I first heard about the movie I was semi-interested in it, than I saw thr trailer and it completely turned me off!!! I know people are gonna hate me 4 this but, I just don't get it!

Screamer, "Andy", don't feel bad. I always tried to get into the comic and the cartoon when I was a bit younger but never could. One of the reasons its doing so well is because it has some sort of a nostalgia feel to it. Fans of the comic books and cartoons and everything have been waiting some time for it, and I suppose for what its worth its a good film. But don't hold me to that opinion, for I have not seen it yet and probably won't see it. In other words, you're not alone. /ubb/smile.gif

Ditto. I remember hearing about this and kinda putting it off to the side. Then i heard about casting and stuff and thought that this would be a big deal. Then someone told me the trailer was awesome, then i saw the trailer and was turned off. It just didn't look interesting. Then about a week before release everyone was talking about it and i still didn't buy into it. I just don't feel it. I was a huge X-Men fan when i was smaller and thought this might be a film for me. But it just doesn't look good! I haven't seen it and probably won't see it for some time. So you got some support on this one.

I'm curious as to what turned you off in the trailers?!

I'm not a devout hard-core fan of the X-Men comic book. Actually, I know what I know mostly from the animated series. So, I'm almost in the same boat as many others. And though I'm not an X-Men fanatic, I thought this movie to be really well done.

The movie is a comic book, and plays through like one. If you're into the action/adventure comics, I think you'll like this movie. I think it's better than any other comic book film adaptation like Batman, etc.

Ditto as in i agree with both of you. I did not click for me. And i am not interested in the least.

I don't know why i don't see anything. Especially since i was a fan. But i'm not a fan anymore. I guess i just stopped caring. And the trailers did nothing for me. Neither did the plot or characters. Nothing really shocked me or pulled me in. That is why I have no interest in this film.

I just downloaded and read the review from Ebert and the movies. Usually i don't hear other critics opinions before I see the film, but this was an exception. From what I heard, it seems very generic.

Screamer, Meat, and Scarface, this movie is absolutely awesome. Some of the trailers sucked(like #2, turned me off 'til I saw #3),
but the movie is very good. If you liked the comics, the cartoon, or just know slightly what any of it is about, you'll love this film.

And Mr. Meat, why would you only look at Ebert's review if you're going to read any reviews? Ebert is the only critic I've seen who hasn't liked the film at least a little.(Of course I haven't seen many reviews on the film.)
I think that this weekend wasn't a fluke, in fact, I will guarantee that this movie will be one of the top 2 grossing movies of the Summer. That is because it is a great, summer blockbuster movie. It won't win any awards, but it is definitely worth the price of admission. I've seen it twice already, and I'm planning on seeing it a third and fourth time with friends.

I didn't give a rat's ass about this movie before I saw it, and I don't give a rat's ass about it now that I've seen it. It wasn't very good and had horrible dialogue, save your money this movie was Shite with a capital S.
