I'de be most delighted to hear a few recommendations for a medieval/barbarian/sword&scorcery movie with some battle sequences.
My fav in the genre is Conan the Barbarian. Others include Sword & the Sorcerer, Red Sonja, and Messenger: Joan of Arc. Gladiator & Braveheart which aren't exactly medieval style but i enjoy due to the graphic battles. Battles including swords, maces, ball-chains, staffs, axes, and such that ultimately leads to some gory carnage is what I would like to see in a film and was wondering if someone could reveal something that I've missed out on.
I appreciate any response.

I was about to say most of the one's you put down. If you don't mind watching somewhat crappy flicks to see heavy doses of gore and T&A, check out the Deathstalker series, and the Barbarian Queen series. If I think of any possible others, I'll post them.

The 13th Warrior. Not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be, by the way.

You didn't mention Excalibur, that would be a good one for ya. It's about the legend of King Arthur...great battle scenes...
And ,tho it doesn't take place in medivial times, you may want to check out George Romero's Knightriders...it's about a group of ppl who have decided to live their lives as if in midivial times....they go around and do carnival type shows, and they have hand to hand combat and jousting on motorcycles....great flick.....one of Ed Harris's first films. Not much gore, but great action and battle scenes...and excellent plot and story. Tom Savini's in it as well.

Requiem-for-a-dream: Not at all do I mind watching crappy flicks to see heavy doses of gore and T&A! I've seen 1 deathstalker and not being too happy with it, decided not to give the others a try but I think I will now since it's been so long anyway. About the Barbarian Queen series...I saw these in the video store but never checked them out. Great ideas.
The 13th Warrior and Excalibur were both excellent but Knightriders I have yet to see. If it's by George Romero then I bet it's good.
Narrator: When I posted this topic I must not have had my head screwed on right and somewhat sleepy. Classics like that I don't mean to insult as I've edited my post. Thanks for the good look-out though.

13th Warrior is a movie that I enjoyed better the 2nd and 3rd times I saw it. It's one of my husband's favorites.
My husband recommends THE ROSE AND THE SWORD. It stars Rutger Hauer and Jennifer Jason Leigh. It's from the director who did TOTAL RECALL and ROBOCOP.

That is what we call Flesh and Blood, maybe your title is the original or it is titled differently in different regions.

</font>No shit? LOL This is one of my hubby's favorite genre's and he mentioned this one when I read him the post. I've never seen the movie. The cover of our VHS looks totally different. I wonder what's up with the different names. Huh.

I didn't find why the name was changed but Flesh + Blood seems to be the original and The Rose and the Sword the new title according to the search I just did.
Anyone know why they changed it?

Another i own because i collect weird movies is The Norseman with Lee Majors i kept falling asleep so guess its kinda boring but its about vikings landing in North America and their encounters with natives. If I remember correctly it has an insane amount of slow motion
