Let's talk about Meg Ryan

Does anybody else feel that her romantic leading lady appeal is going on alot longer expected? I saw Kate and Leopold last night and was once again very impressed w/ her constant youth. She is every bit as charming as she was in WHEN HARRY MET SALLY and INNERSPACE. But, since youth and beauty can't last forever, how long do you think this will last? I think it's great that she has a few dramatic performances like COURAGE UNDER FIRE and WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN under her belt to allow her more leeway when the romantic appeal goes.

I agree with Shannyn Sossamon! She is hot in a weird and different kinda way! But meg ryan is really cute (not hot but cute) and I think she is very good and i like her a lot. As for kate Beckinsale I dont see anything special there and since Muhalland drive was on my worst movies ever list I probably hated her in that movie.

Kate Beckinsale is one of my favorite young actresses. Watch her in COLD COMFORT FARM and you'll feel differently about her. She's righteous! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif Also, if you like British period pictures, you MUST see JANE AUSTEN'S EMMA. Superior in EVERY way to Gwyneth Paltrow's portrayal.

i completely agree, shes a good actress and some of her films are quite good .... but i find really irritating and like you im not sure why ...

I think the reason you find her irritating is because she's a bit of a smart-ass.
In romantic comedies, she always gets the role of the sarcastic-hard-to-get-cutie who's all about witty comebacks.

OH GOD!! Meg Ryan is one of the worst actresses I've ever seen. In almost all of her little romantic comedies, she always play despicable and unlikable characters. There are many movies of her that I like but I don't like her. America's sweetheart? BULLSHIT!! Her characters never change and she acts like an immature bitch! I just want to bitch slap her and tell her to grow up! I would like her a lot better if she STOPS doing the "romantic comedies" thang. But for now, god!
