Can anyone tell everything about Pink Flamingos?
I've only heard a little bit about it and from what I've heard it's pretty cool.

****SPOILERS****

You might want to throw any expectations you have for it out the window. I'm sure you'll think it's "pretty cool" too once you see it. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
I won't tell you everything about PF but I can tell you that in one scene you get to see the lovely transvestite Divine eat REAL dog excrement! And in one scene you'll enjoy watching a guy gleefully showing the camera his own butthole. It might be advisable not to eat while watching this film, depending upon how tasteful you find it

It's been a few years since i've seen it but i remember some parts, and the divine/dog part is one of the few movie scenes that have actually made me gag.So all i can say if you decide to watch it is good luck!

John Waters always took it as a compliment if you vomited at one of his films... it was like a standing ovation to him. He has certainly mellowed *cough*sold out since this film.

Pink Flamingos is a definite classic, but you may want to work into John Water's early films slowly....check out Female Trouble; its another classic.....but not as "intense". Then, move on to Desperate Living, which is Water's darkest film, without a doubt. If you've enjoyed these two - you should be ready for Pink Flamingos.

Also, pick up the DVD of Pink Flamingos which has the 25th anniversary footage, commentary... and best of all, comes packaged with Female Trouble!!

***Spoilers****

I like twisted movies as much as the next demented fellow, but Pink Flamingos is the line in the sand I will not cross. Seeing adult white trash:

Cross gender dress, wear diapers, shit themselves, eat dog shit, fuck chickens til they die... etc.... is not my bag. This waste of celluoid makes Tom Greens' scene of biting a bloody umbilical cord still attached to a baby seem like a Disney cartoon. I also think I mentioned once before, Divine is one disgusting looking he/she.. and I've seen some pretty shemales in drag....

0/10... only rent if you wanna hardwire some disturbing shit into your MIND.

I have seen all of John Waters movies that have been released to the public, and I despised this movie, It is supposed to be a comedy, and im sorry but it was NOT funny.. Watching Divine suck his/her "sons" dick in the movie while cursing the Marble's house, and eating dog shit at the end, ugh this movie was horrible.. never should have been made - It is incredibly too strange for my liking, and I enjoy things that dont conform to the norm, but nah this movie really is just uh.. a waste. Although it was better than Desperate Living, if you want to see some of Waters' work I suggest Female Trouble, Hairspray, Serial Mom, and dont shoot me for this one but Cecil B. Demented (actually I thought it was pretty good)
