The only thing I've heard is that Ashley Judd
has been signed to play a young Catwoman. Hopefully getting Joel Schumacher out of the mix, and with Tim Burton taking a more active role, improves this film's chances of being a success. The idea of taking Batman back to his early years could be fascinating. Plus we won't be subjected to Chris O'Donnell and the vaccuous Alicia Silverstone. "Suit me up Uncle Alfred!" Lord have mercy!

I am very much excited for thjis film and Darran Aronofsky apparently wants to make the film for just $60,000. That, frankly, must be out of the question.

I think such a director would be a refreshing aspect to comic-book films.

The best thing about Year One: Batgirl can not possibly be in it!

It's cool because they are adapting it directly from Frank Miller's BATMAN: YEAR ONE comic series from the mid-to-late 80s. It's a total adaptation. That should be especially cool. It would be even better if this one is great, and they go on to do years 2 and 3, 3 being my favorite!

I just think this is so cool because, as far as I know, it's the first time that they faithfully adapted a comic for the screen.

Just tell me if I'm dumb, but this movie can't possibly be a logical part of the series.
First, the first BATMAN movie already told the story of the first sightings of Bats, and BATMAN RETURNS described the birth of Catwoman. How the fuck can a new movie tell those stories all over again without screwing with Burton's movies heh?

Well, I just hope it'll be good.

Like in many comic books, characters have various origins. Tim Burton's take on Catwoman was original, and quite frankly a bit lame. Year One features a very young Bruce Wayne...21 or so...beginning his career as Batman. I don't believe it is meant to be a sequel, or for that matter even a prequel. Merely a different take on the story. There was even a time in comics when two Batmans existed simultaneously, each with theri own Joker and Catwoman. One of the Batmans even married Catwoman! Let's face it: Tim Burton did remarkable work. At the same time, however, Joel Schmuckmeister all but crucified the series with his "star riddled" Batman Forever, and the simply horrible and campy Batman and Robin. Anything that can be done now to revive this remarkable story is, in my opinion, more than welcome. By the way, do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Actually if you think about it if there is a young cat woman they can also put anyone else in it because if you remember batman returns is when the cat woman was created. There is a consistency problem between these 2 movies.

Actually Ashley Judd singed to play Catwoman in an actual Catwomen movie:all about her. As for Batman:Year One I am excited. I hope Darren Aronfonsky brings the superhero back to his darker roots that Burton did with it. I also heard Boaz Yakin(Remember The Titans) is going to direct a "Batman Beyond" movie based on the cartoon. i am really excited about this because the show is great and I love action movies set in the future. I have one hope:Clint Eastwood signs to play an old Bruce Wayne. This is cool we have one movie when Batman was young and a senior citizen. I am a huge Batman film.
