Does anybody know something about this movie with Van Damme ? I saw the trailer and it looks like a decent action movie.
Has it been released yet in theatres or straight on DVD ??

In a few countries outside the United States it has been released, from what I have read it looks neat. I honsetly believe this could revive Van Damme's career, much like Exit Wounds helped Seagal. I would like to know the website where you saw that trailer, if you don't mind telling me. It should be released in American theatres in 3 months, according to a couple sources I have read.

I live in FRance, and usually, i hate all the van damme movies, but a friend told me that it was a very very decent action movie and said that he enjoyed it...Maybe i'm gonna see it, even if i don't love van damme.
But here, in many reviews, it was said that it was the best van damme's movie

Yes. According to upcomingmovies.com The Replicant will be released direct to video on September 18(one day before my birthday!Yipee!). Ofcaorse, I am not happy about this because I was looking forward to seeing in on a movie theatre because it looks pretty cool. Michael Rooker is in it too and I have always liked him. And while Van Damme may not have much of a range(that may even be an understatement), I think he makes up for it in screen presence and charisma. Besides I don't think he's that bad. Infact I even think he gave a decent performance in Lionheart. I also thought he was pretty good in Universal Soldier: The Return. He was more livelier there and in the beginning where he mourns for his wife, I thought that was convincing. I think the reason everyone says such bad things about him is because of his accent and it does have the tendency to make him sound funny. Anyway, it does seem that the Replicant will be a direct to video release much to my dismay.
