I REALLY LIKED THE ORIGINAL AND HAVE HEARD THAT THIS ONE IS SHOULD BE BETTER! BASICALY THERE'S SOME WEIRD VAMPIRE HUNTERS AND WISTLER COMES BACK. THE HINT TO HOW WHISTLER CAMES BACK IS IN THE FIRST ONE, YOU JUST HAVE TO LOOK FOR IT.

Blade was a travesty. They took a really cool character, and turned him into a cardboard macho/badass/IQ lower than his shoe size action hero. Let's hope the sequel respects the title character a little more, and lays off on the whole stupid "becoming a god" angle. That's overdone.

Premise:
A new blood virus that turns humans and vampires alike into monsters called Reapers (led by Nomak, played by Goss) leads vampire hunter Blade (Snipes) to form an unlikely alliance with a a group of vampires called the Bloodpack (led by Perlman). Reapers suck blood, but not through their mouths... instead, they have suckers on the palms of their hands (which means if they can get their hands on a victim, they're toast). Rescuing his old friend, Whistler, from vampirism, along with a new machinist sidekick named Scud, Blade is ready to kill mutant vampire scum...

Release Date:
March 22nd, 2002 (originally mentioned as a possible November, 2001 release)

Blade could have been so much better.
I'll be honest with you on this, if they had cast someone other than Snipes it may have been a better film, as he was the only downfall to what was an action/bloody/semi-dark movie.

Not sure who they could have put in as Blade, but Snipes was like a stiff board or something, the fight scenes were good, but again, Snipes didnt appear to be all in there, and what was with the growling voice, made it look/sound like he had a bad cold.

I just hope the next one does live up to the good words I've been hearing.
But I hope Snipes brushes up on his acting ability.

Okay, I hear ya.

Now REWATCH Blade and see if you dont notice nearly all of the MATRIX's effects in that movie!! It set the standard. Not as good a movie, but not too shabby either!!

Oh please.... Snipes did a fantastic job with his leading role, it was his best film to date to. I didn't know if the last poster was saying Blade "copied" the special effects from The Matrix or what, but I do believe Blade came out first. I agree Matrix has the best S/FX, but Blade is right behind it in my opinion.

Yeah, admittedly, Blade was a fine movie, colourful, bloody in all the right places, decent effects and so on, oh and a good soundtrack, but although this might have been Snipes best role to date, its also a damn shite attempt too.

There were one or two nice touches, but I couldnt help but think he was lacking a little depth. Its all well and good that he can kick some ass and most of the choreography was down to him, but that doesnt disperse the fact that it may have been acted by a cardboard cutout, and who knows, it may have given the role more depth.

I've watched this film dozens of times, but I still cant get over it.
