Well ''people magazine'' called the great movie ''American History X'' one of the worst films of the year a couple of years ago, so take what they say with a grain of salt......I'm still gonna see Hannibal opening weekend.....

I hear ya screamer581... I can't wait to see this movie. I don't really give much to what the so called "critics" say, and the only critics I do listen to are the schmoes. We have two movie "critics" that write reviews for our paper here in Des Moines... the woman hates ANY action, and the guy can't stand chic flicks, drama,or romance, and they both base their reviews on the genre they prefer. There is someone on the board (Nomoputzy...i think????) that has seen it, and they said it was good. Who ever wrote the review in "people" can bite my arse... they need to know what a real critic is and visit this web site once and awhile...they could learn something.

AMERICAN HISTORY X was one of the best of '98.
Who gives a fuck what the critics think?
Who gives a fuck if they changed the ending in the movie?
Anthony Hopkins and Julianne Moore are class acts.
Any film they grace their presence with can't be all bad!
Ridley Scott rules!

well. ive seen it. i didnt think it was at all dissapointing and i highly recommend it!!!!! Anthony Hopkins is a GOD!!!

Ignore all idiots from PEOPLE magazine. Fauggh! Richard Corliss of TIME (an older, much more erudite fellow) gave HANNIBAL a glowing, almost poetic review. Travers of ROLLING STONE and the dude from VARIETY (major publications) loved it also. And the critical reception so far in the UK has been quite positive. Sure, there are going to be nay-sayers (Ansen of NEWSWEEK, for one), but these guys didn't even like the book, which was BRILLIANT. How could you like the movie if you hated the book? They have the same plot! Anyway, I think Ridley did a great job of a very difficult and problematic novel -- and I agree, FF, Hopkins is a Major Deity, the King of Kings, the Lord of All he Surveys! Okey dokey!
