The Vampire LeStat

If there is another sequel to INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, I hope it would be THE VAMPIRE LESTAT (based on the excellent Anne Rice novel). Forget the third entry in the Vampire Chronicles titled QUEEN OF THE DAMNED. Anyway, who would you cast as LeStat if you were producing the flick? Tom Cruise doesn't qualify.

My choice would be Wes Bentley from AMERICAN BEAUTY. And as LeStat's mother Gabrielle, Julianne Moore.

THE VAMPIRE LESTAT is actually a prequel to INTERVIEW, detailing LeStat's origins as a vampire. Since the character is in his early 20's, Cruise is disqualified because he's pushing 40, and has expressed no interest in reprising the role. Its time for some new blood (pun intended)!!!

I think they are actually making Queen of the Damned. All I know is that Jonathan Davis from KoRn was helping to make the musical score of the movie, whichever one it may be.

They could use the Tom Cruise-lookalike aka Jason Schwartzmann (star of "Rushmore"). He's a great actor, and if you watch "Rushmore" closely in the ending play that Max puts on (which is a blatant rip-off of "Born On The Fourth Of July"), Jason looks exactly like a young Tom Cruise...big nose and all...Wes Anderson ("Rushmore" director) did it on purpose because of the obvious similarities...

Great behind-the-scenes gossip, BROCK! Schwartzman is definitely a force to be reckoned with, as he proved in the underrated RUSHMORE. He's movie royalty after all (son of Talia Shire, nephew of Francis Ford Coppola, cousin of Nicolas Cage).

Bad news guys, since the Divorce proceedings between hollywoods worst couple of all time, Tom Cruise IS going to reprise his role as Le Stat. We will see as to weather or not it works or not. I am not a huge fan of Tom, but I did like him in IWTV and a not so well known Ridley Scott film called LEGEND. I prey (Pun intended) that Le Stat will be as good as the book was. I would love to see a vampire fly into the sun and not die.

i just thought- even if the whole thing was a prequel they could have Tom Cruise- the guy is a vampire for christ sake!! he wont need to worry about the aging process...lol
